Okay, so check this out, I decided to try and recreate Savannah James’ blonde hair. Why? Because I was bored, and I kinda liked the look. Plus, my hair needed a change anyway.

First things first, I did some digging online. I mean, you gotta research, right? I looked at a bunch of pictures of her with blonde hair, trying to figure out the exact shade and tone. It looked like a warm, honey blonde to me, with some highlights and lowlights for dimension.

Next, I hit up the beauty supply store. Now, I’m no professional hair stylist, but I’ve dyed my hair plenty of times before. I grabbed a box of hair dye that looked close to the honey blonde I was aiming for, plus a highlighting kit. I also made sure to get some toner to combat any brassiness, because nobody wants orange hair.

The process itself was a bit of a mission, I’m not gonna lie. I started by highlighting a few strands around my face to brighten things up. Then, I applied the base color all over, making sure to saturate every strand. I left it on for the recommended time, which felt like forever, then rinsed it out and applied the toner.

After drying and styling, I gotta say, it wasn’t exactly a Savannah James replica. But it was blonde! And it looked pretty good, if I do say so myself. The color was a nice, warm blonde, and the highlights added some dimension. There was a little bit of brassiness, but the toner helped tone it down.

Here’s the breakdown:

Did Savannah James go blonde? See photos of her stunning hair.
  • Prep: Did some online research, picked a color and highlighting kit.
  • Highlighting: Highlighted some strands around my face.
  • Base Color: Applied the base color all over my hair.
  • Toning: Used toner to get rid of the brassiness.

What I learned:

  • DIY hair dyeing is not for the faint of heart.
  • Toner is your best friend.
  • Savannah James looks good in everything.

The Result?

Overall, I’m happy with how it turned out. It’s not perfect, but it’s a fun change. Would I do it again? Maybe. But next time, I might just go to a professional. It would save me a lot of time and stress! But hey, at least I can say I tried!
