bridgerton outfits on a Budget! (How to Get the Look Without Breaking the Bank)

Okay, so, I’ve been totally obsessed with “Bridgerton” lately. You know, the show with all the fancy dresses and drama? I decided I wanted to try and recreate some of those iconic looks for myself. So I got to it and started this little project.

First, I scrolled through tons of pictures from the show, picking out outfits that I thought I could maybe pull off. I made a whole mood board, which was actually pretty fun. Then, I started looking at what I already had in my closet. I found a few things that kind of worked, like this one dress with, you know, puffy sleeves.

Hunting for Treasures

But I definitely needed more stuff. So, I hit up some thrift stores and online shops. Let me tell you, finding the right pieces was a bit of a challenge! I was looking for anything with that “Bridgerton” vibe – empire waistlines, lots of lace, pastel colors, you get the idea. And square necklines of course! I managed to find a couple of really pretty dresses and some cute accessories. Though I feel like I spent an eternity looking for them. Luckily I found a producer mentioned they created 1,800 dresses for the first season!

Putting It All Together

Once I had a decent collection of clothes and accessories, I started playing around with different combinations. I tried on different dresses with different necklaces, added some ribbons to my hair, and even attempted some of those fancy hairstyles. It was a lot of trial and error, but it was also super fun to see the outfits come together. Some women’s hats are not right. Lady F’s dresses seem to be from 1890’s even because they have marked waist, so I decided not to recreate her look.

The Final Look

I ended up creating a few different looks that I was really happy with. They weren’t exactly like the ones on the show, but they definitely captured that romantic, “Bridgerton” feel. And you know what? I even wore one of the outfits out to a little get-together with my friends, and they loved it!

  • Tip 1: Don’t be afraid to mix and match.
  • Tip 2: Accessories are key!
  • Tip 3: Have fun with it!

This whole experience was a blast. It was cool to step outside of my usual style and try something new. Plus, it made me appreciate all the work that goes into creating those amazing costumes on the show. If you’re a “Bridgerton” fan, I totally recommend giving this a try!
