Okay, so I wanted to share my experience with trying out different “business makeup looks.” I’ve been experimenting a lot lately, trying to find that perfect balance between professional and, well, me. It’s been a journey, let me tell you!
The Starting Point
I started by, you know, just throwing on my usual makeup. Foundation, a little blush, some mascara. The basics. But it always felt a little…off. Either too much for a meeting, or not enough to feel put-together. I’d stare at myself in the mirror, and kept adjusting my makeup, I feel so bad.
Experiment Time
So, I watched some basic makeup teaching videos.I started experimenting. A lot.
- Lighter Foundation:I swapped my full-coverage foundation for a tinted moisturizer. Way better! It evened out my skin tone without looking cakey.
- Neutral Eyeshadows: I grabbed a palette of browns and taupes. I used a light shade all over the lid, a slightly darker one in the crease, and just a touch of highlighter on the brow bone.
- Defined Brows: I filled in my brows a little more than usual, using a brow pencil. It really framed my face and made me look more polished.
- Subtle Blush: Instead of a bright pink, I went for a peachy, natural-looking blush. Just a hint of color on the apples of my cheeks.
- Mascara: Two coats. Enough to make my eyes pop, but not so much that it looked like I was going out clubbing.
- Lipstick Choices: This was the hardest part! I tried everything from nude to berry. Eventually, I settled on a “my lips but better” shade – a rosy nude that didn’t scream for attention.
The (Almost) Final Look
After weeks of tweaking, I finally landed on a look that felt right. It was polished, professional, and still felt like me. I didn’t look like I was trying too hard, but I definitely looked like I’d made an effort. It made me look energetic。
I wore it to a few meetings, and I actually felt more confident. It’s amazing how a little makeup can do that, right? I received compliments from some colleagues.
Still Learning
I’m still playing around with different products and *’s all a big experiment. I’ll probably switch things up depending on the occasion. But for now, I’m pretty happy with my go-to business makeup * makes me comfortable.
