My Messy Journey Testing That Popular Foundation
Alright, so everybody’s been yelling about this Base Foundation Mac Long Lasting stuff. Claims it lasts forever or something. Yeah, right. I’ve been burned before, but okay, fine, I’ll bite. Grabbed it last Thursday after work, tired as heck.

First thing? Holy crap, the color match. I thought I knew my shade. WRONG. Bottle looks like my skin tone, squeeze some out on my hand? Looks way darker. Panicked a little. Ended up mixing like three different shades I already owned to make it work. What a pain.
- Squeezed foundation onto my stupid plastic mixing palette.
- Grabbed my damp beauty sponge (shoulda been wetter, realized later).
- Slapped it on my cheek. Way too orange.
- Dumped in a pump of my super light drugstore foundation. Mixed it like cake batter.
- Still not perfect, threw in a tiny drop of this olive-y one I hate. Got closer.
Finally got it on my whole face. Feels heavy at first. Let it sit for like 10 minutes while I messed up my eyeliner twice. Kept touching it. Bad habit. Wanted to see if it was dry.
Ran out the door late, naturally. Had to meet people for pizza downtown. Hot in the car. Got greasy by the forehead – expected. But here’s the thing: it didn’t slide off. Usually I’m a greaseball. Blotted with an old napkin from the glove box. Color? Still mostly there on the napkin? Weird. Face looked okay? Not great, but okay.
The real test was later. Finished eating. Walked like forever trying to find parking (nightmare). Windy too. Got home way later than planned. Looked in the bathroom mirror… expecting disaster.
Shocked. No major meltdown. Okay, my chin near my mouth where I wiped pizza grease? Yeah, thin. But my cheeks? Forehead? Still had stuff on it! No giant patches missing. Didn’t look fresh, obviously, but way better than usual stuff. Even stood up to me rubbing my eyes like an idiot when I was tired.

Not magic though. When I took my scarf off later? Foundation streak on the inside collar. Dark brown line. Crap. Gotta wash that thing now. So yeah, it sticks to me, but transfers onto stuff. Big trade-off.
Would I buy it again? Maybe. Expensive for the hassle I had just trying to get the color not crazy. But dang, seeing my face still kinda covered after pizza, walking, and being a tired mess? That’s new. Just keep the scarf away.
