baltic tricompax review: A Hands-On Look at This Retro Chronograph

Okay, so I finally got my hands on the Baltic Tricompax, and let me tell you, the unboxing was an event in itself. I’d been eyeing this watch for a while, so you can imagine my excitement.

First thing I did was carefully open the box. Inside I found a nice cork box, that was a cool. Inside the cork box, obviously, was the watch, nestled all snug and secure.

Initial Impressions

My first impression? It’s even better in person. The photos online don’t do the dial justice. That creamy, almost vintage-looking color is just perfect. And the size? Spot on. It’s 39.5mm, which is great for my somewhat-average wrist. I was a little worried, but I measured and check it, it is a good one.

I strapped it on immediately. The bracelet felt solid, not flimsy at all. I did have to remove a couple of links to get the fit right, which is pretty standard for me. With my tools I removed it easily.

Playing Around

Of course, I started playing with the chronograph function right away. The pushers have a really satisfying click to them, which I appreciate. And the hands snap back to zero perfectly. You know that I have done several times. It’s little things like that which make a difference, in my opinion.

I wore the Tricompax for a full day of just regular stuff – working at my desk, running some errands, making dinner. It was super comfortable the whole time. I didn’t experience any discomfort, it was quite smooth.

The movement inside is a Sellita SW510-M, which is a manual-wind movement. That means you have to wind it yourself, which I actually enjoy. It’s a little ritual. I wound it up in the morning, and it kept ticking along perfectly throughout the day.

Overall Thoughts (So Far)

So, my initial take on the Baltic Tricompax? Big thumbs up. It looks fantastic, feels great on the wrist, and the chronograph function is a joy to use. I think I’m going to really enjoy this watch. It’s definitely one of those watches that makes you want to keep checking the time, even when you don’t need to. I took some pictures, and compared with the photos online, I can tell you, it is much beautiful!
