Target Styling Powder: Get Volume & Texture (Easy How-To)

Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “target styling powder” thing all over TikTok, and you know I had to try it. I’m always up for a good hack, especially if it promises to make my makeup look better. I mean, who doesn’t want that?

Target Styling Powder: Get Volume & Texture (Easy How-To)

My “Target Styling Powder” Adventure

First, I grabbed my usual foundation and concealer. I applied them like I normally do – nothing fancy, just my everyday routine. I made sure everything was blended nicely, because that’s always important, right?

Then came the star of the show: the styling powder. I picked up a big, fluffy brush – the kind you’d usually use for, like, bronzer or something. I dipped it into the powder, tapped off the excess (super important, otherwise you’ll end up looking like a ghost!), and started dusting.

  • I focused on the areas where I tend to get oily: my T-zone (forehead, nose, chin). Those are my trouble spots, always shining through by lunchtime.
  • I also lightly swept it under my eyes. I’ve heard it helps with creasing, and let me tell you, I’m all about preventing that.
  • I even added a bit to my eyelids, just to see if it would make my eyeshadow last longer. Gotta experiment, you know?

I kept layering the powder, little by little, until I felt like I had a good, even coverage. I didn’t want to overdo it, though. Nobody wants to look cakey.

After the powder, I finished up the rest of my makeup: some blush, mascara, lipstick – the usual. And honestly? I was pretty impressed. My skin looked…smoother. Less shiny, for sure. It was like a real-life filter, but without the weird, unnatural look.

I wore my makeup all day, and I have to say, it held up pretty well. My T-zone was definitely less oily than usual, and my under-eye concealer didn’t crease as much. Even my eyeshadow seemed to stay put longer. Was it a miracle? Maybe not. But was it a noticeable improvement? Absolutely.

So, would I recommend the target styling powder technique? Yeah, I think I would. It’s easy, it’s affordable, and it actually seems to work. Just remember to use a light hand and blend, blend, blend! You don’t want to end up looking like you fell face-first into a bag of flour.
