Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “lipstick purple” color trend everywhere, and I finally decided to give it a shot. I’m not usually one for bold lip colors, I usually stick to my nudes and pinks, but hey, gotta step out of your comfort zone sometimes, right?

The Hunt Begins
First things first, I needed to find the perfect shade. I didn’t want anything too bright, almost neon-like. I was going for more of a deep, maybe slightly vampy purple. I went to the drugstore, just to see what they had. I must have spent a good 30 minutes just staring at all the different purple lipsticks. It’s crazy how many shades of purple there actually are!
- There were like, light lavenders.
- And then super dark, almost black purples!
- Finally found something that was like a plum color.
The Trial
So, I got home, super excited to try this thing on. I prepped my lips first – you know, exfoliated with a little sugar scrub and put on some lip balm. Gotta make sure they’re nice and smooth, especially when you’re dealing with a darker color. Any dryness and it’ll show up like crazy.
Then, I took a deep breath and applied the lipstick. Okay, first impression? It was definitely… purple. Like, REALLY purple. I wasn’t sure how I felt about it at first. I carefully applied a second coat, making sure to get the edges nice and neat. It is much better now!
The Verdict
After staring at myself in the mirror for a good five minutes, I decided I actually kinda liked it! It was definitely different, and it took some getting used to, but it was fun. I paired it with a pretty simple eye look – just some mascara and a little bit of eyeliner – because I didn’t want the makeup to be too overwhelming. I think that helped balance things out.
I even wore it out to get coffee, and I got a couple of compliments! One girl even asked me what shade it was. So, yeah, I think the lipstick purple experiment was a success. Would I wear it every day? Probably not. But for a night out, or when I’m feeling a little adventurous? Definitely!

It’s all about having fun with makeup, right? Don’t be afraid to try new things! You might surprise yourself. Now I’m thinking, what color should I try next? Maybe a bold red, or orange…we will see it. That’s all for today’s sharing.
