Monta Triumph: The Ultimate Guide for Watch Lovers

Okay, so let’s talk about this Monta Triumph thing. I’ve been messing around with watches for a while now, and this one caught my eye. I first heard about it when my friend told me that MONTA almost didn’t make it in 2017. Started digging around, and boom, there it was – the Monta Triumph. Seemed like a cool, military-inspired field watch, so I decided to give it a shot.

First thing I did was check out their website, you know, just to see what they were all about. Found out they got a few models, but the Triumph was the one that really grabbed me. It’s got that whole “luxury field watch” vibe, which is kinda weird, but I’m into it. Looked pretty slick in the pictures, so I pulled the trigger and ordered one.

When it arrived, I ripped open the box like a kid on Christmas. First impressions? This thing is solid. I mean, it feels really well-made. The case is thinner than I expected, which is great ’cause it sits nicely on my wrist. It’s got a date window, which some folks might not care about, but I like it. Oh, and it’s water-resistant up to 150 meters, so I don’t have to freak out if I accidentally jump in a pool with it on.

I started wearing it every day, just to see how it held up. Honestly, it’s been a pretty sweet experience. It’s comfortable enough to wear all day long, and it looks good with pretty much anything. I’ve worn it with jeans and a t-shirt, and I’ve worn it with a suit, and it never feels out of place. Even I have some criticisms, but they are really minor.

Now, I did a bit of research on the guts of this thing. Turns out, Monta uses these Swiss movements, Sellita ones, I think they’re called. This particular watch has some Sellita SW330-2 GMT movement, and it’s supposed to be pretty reliable. I mean, I’m no expert on watch movements, but it keeps time like a champ, and that’s all I really care about. And get this – it’s got like a 42-hour power reserve, so even if I don’t wear it for a day or two, it’s still ticking.

What I really did next

  • Wore it for a few weeks, just to see how it felt on the wrist.
  • Took it to a watch guy I know to get his opinion on the movement.
  • Compared it to some of my other watches, just to see how it stacked up.
  • Showed it off to a few friends, ’cause, well, why not?

And the end? This Monta Triumph is a winner in my book. It’s a bit pricey for a watch from a smaller company. But for a daily driver that looks good and feels great, it’s hard to beat. I’m glad I took a chance on it.
