Well, let me tell you somethin’ about these dunk roses. Seems like everyone’s talkin’ about ’em. I seen them young folks wearin’ ’em, all fancy lookin’ shoes. They call ’em dunk roses, sounds kinda silly, don’t it? But they sure are somethin’ to look at. Not real roses of course. It’s a shoe. They’re shoes. You know?
I heard them sayin’ there’s Nike Dunk Low. What’s that even mean? Low, I guess that means close to the ground. And there is a name called Nike. I think it’s the one who makes these shoes. They make a lot of shoes. Always the same logo. I always see it. This Nike one, the swoosh, I think young folks call it.
And this rose thing, they ain’t real roses, no sir. They’re like, uh, roses on the shoes. Heard some kids talkin’ ’bout, Black Roses, sounds a bit dark, right? Ain’t seen no black roses in my garden, that’s for sure. These dunk roses, they come in all sorts of colors. And they say it’s for Valentine’s Day. What a world, roses on shoes for Valentine’s Day. And they are not even real. Well, love is love, I guess.
These kids, they buy and sell these shoes. StockX, they call it. Sounds like some kinda market, like where we used to sell our chickens. But it’s for shoes. Fancy shoes like these dunk roses. They even got a special name for these shoes. HF1986-001. What a mouthful. Back in my day, shoes were just shoes. Now they got numbers.
I heard these dunk roses are comin’ out in February 2025. They say it’s a big deal. Everyone’s gonna want ’em. Like when them new tractors came to town, everyone wanted a look. These shoes, they are the new tractors. They say they cost a lot of money, like a lot. I heard $135. Can you believe it? For shoes! Back in my day, a good pair of shoes cost you a couple bucks, not a small fortune!

I seen some, they’re all pink. Triple Pink, they say. Like a whole lotta pink. Too much pink for me, but the young girls, they seem to like it. They say they’re gettin’ more of ’em soon. November this year, I heard, that will be here before you know it. I heard it’s November 21, the specific date. Time flies. It really does.
These dunk roses shoes, they got this logo on the bottom, they call it the sole. “NIKE”, it says. Big letters. On the real ones, it’s real deep in there. Like you carved it with a knife. The fake ones, not so much. The letters, all spaced out. Like they’re shy or somethin’. And they got these little symbols. Like tiny little circles with an R in the middle. Two of them.
You can find deals on shoes, they say. Clearance shoes. Like when we used to sell our old stuff at the market, gettin’ rid of it cheap. But these dunk roses, I don’t think they’ll be on clearance anytime soon. They’re too popular. Like a hot pie at the county fair. Everyone wants a piece.
They say these Black Roses ones are special. Iron Grey/Black, that’s what they say the colors are. Sounds like somethin’ you’d find in a blacksmith’s shop. But I guess it looks good on a shoe. For the young folks, anyway. I’m more of a plain brown shoe kinda gal myself. More practical.
So, these dunk roses, they’re a big thing. Lots of talk about ’em. If you want to get some, you better be ready to pay up. And watch out for the fake ones. They are everywhere. Make sure that “NIKE” is deep in there, and those little R circles are there. And if you want those Black Roses, you gotta wait till February 2025. That’s what they say.
It is a shoe. Why is it so complicated? I don’t know. But they sure are somethin’, these dunk roses. Somethin’ else, I tell ya. Something else. I don’t get it. But maybe I don’t have to.
