Okay, so January just wrapped up, and man, it was a whirlwind of trying new stuff and documenting it all. I figured I’d share the “pictures” – not literally photos, but more like snapshots of what I got up to.

First off, I decided to finally tackle that sourdough bread thing. I know, I know, everyone and their grandma’s doing it, but I always felt intimidated. So, I started small. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos, like, a ton. Then I actually made a starter, mixing flour and water and stirring it twice a day. It smelled kinda funky for a week, not gonna lie. But eventually, it started bubbling. I felt like a legit scientist!

Next up, I got into coding. Been meaning to learn Python for ages. Jumped onto Codecademy and started grinding through the lessons. It was frustrating at first, like banging my head against a wall. I remember staring at the screen for hours trying to figure out some basic syntax. But then, something clicked. I started writing simple scripts that actually did stuff! It was so satisfying.

Then, I decided I needed to be more active. Winter’s a real motivation killer, you know? So, I committed to doing a quick workout every morning. Nothing crazy, just 20 minutes of bodyweight exercises. Push-ups, squats, planks – the usual. At first, it was a struggle to even get out of bed. But after a week or so, I started feeling more energized throughout the day. Plus, my jeans fit a little better. Bonus!

And, I spent time going back to my old hobby, drawing. I bought a cheap sketchpad and some pencils. Started sketching random things around the house. My dog, my coffee mug, a plant on the windowsill. I’m definitely no Picasso, but it was a nice way to unwind and get creative.

I did some decluttering as well. I tackled my closet first, which was a disaster zone. I pulled everything out and sorted it into piles: keep, donate, trash. It was shocking how much stuff I had that I never even wore. Getting rid of all that clutter felt amazing, like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

Finally, one thing that made January super fun was trying some new recipes. I found this awesome chili recipe online that I tweaked to my liking. It involved a bunch of different kinds of beans, some chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, and a secret ingredient: dark chocolate. It was seriously delicious. I made a huge batch and ate it for days.

So, there you have it. That was my January. It was all about trying new things, pushing myself out of my comfort zone, and just generally trying to make the most of the winter blues. Hopefully February will bring more pictures!
