90s Fringe Hair Inspiration: Find Your Perfect Style Here!

Alright, so I finally tried doing the 90s fringe hair thing that’s been all over my feed. Here’s how it went down, step-by-step, ’cause let me tell you, it wasn’t as easy as those TikToks make it look!

90s Fringe Hair Inspiration: Find Your Perfect Style Here!

First things first: The Prep! I washed my hair. Like, duh, right? But seriously, clean hair is a must. I used my regular shampoo and conditioner – nothing fancy. Then, I towel-dried it until it was damp, not soaking wet. We’re talking like, 60% dry here.

Next up: Sectioning Time! This part was tricky. I grabbed my comb and tried to figure out where exactly to section off my fringe. I watched a bunch of videos and decided to go for a triangle shape, starting at the arch of my eyebrows. I used the comb to create a clean part, separating the fringe from the rest of my hair. I clipped the rest of my hair back so it wouldn’t get in the way. Important: Use good clips, the ones that actually hold your hair. I learned that the hard way!

The Cut (gulp!): Okay, here’s where things got real. I took a deep breath and grabbed my sharpest scissors. Seriously, use sharp ones! Dull scissors will just mess up your hair. I held the fringe section straight out and started cutting, a little at a time. I aimed for about eyebrow length, knowing I could always go shorter later. I used the point-cutting technique (holding the scissors vertically and making small snips) to create a softer, more textured edge. Pro-tip: Don’t try to cut it all in one go. Small snips, check in the mirror, repeat. Way less chance of a disaster!

Styling is Key! Once the cutting was (mostly) done, I added a heat protectant spray – gotta protect those strands! Then, I used a round brush and my hairdryer to style the fringe. I focused on creating a slight bend and volume. This is where practice comes in. It took me a few tries to get the hang of it, but eventually, I got that slight curve that’s so characteristic of the 90s fringe. I also used a texturizing spray to give it a bit of hold and that lived-in look.

Final Touches: I stepped back, looked in the mirror, and assessed the damage… I mean, the style. I made a few tiny adjustments, snipping off any stray hairs. I also played around with parting it in the middle and slightly to the side to see what looked best. And then… I was done!

The Verdict? It’s not perfect, but I’m actually digging it! It definitely gives off that 90s vibe. I think with a little more practice, I can really nail the look. Plus, now I have a fringe! It’s different, it’s fun, and it’s definitely a change from my usual hairstyle.

  • What I learned: Sharp scissors are essential. Sectioning is key. And patience is your best friend.
  • Would I do it again? Yeah, probably! But maybe next time I’ll go to a professional. Just kidding (maybe)!

So, there you have it – my 90s fringe hair adventure! What do you guys think? Would you try this style?
