Okay, so I got this idea to check out prom dresses from the 1960s. I’ve always been kind of into vintage stuff, and 60s fashion has that cool, unique vibe. So, I decided to dig in and see what I could find.

Diving into the Past
First, I just started by typing “prom dresses 1960” into a search engine, to get a general feel. You know, just casting a wide net. I wanted to see lots of different styles and colors to get my bearings.
I started looking at images, saving the ones that caught my eye. Some were super poofy, like giant bells, and others were more slim-fitting, almost like what you’d see on Mad Men. There were tons of pastel colors – baby blues, pinks, yellows, and lots of floral patterns. So many different styles that can represent 1960.
Getting Specific with My Search
After I got a general idea, I started to narrow my search. I tried adding words like “short 1960s prom dress” or “lace 1960s prom dress” to find more specific examples. It was fun to find all the different kinds of dresses.
I created a folder on my computer to save all the images I liked. It’s kind of a mess right now, but I figure I can organize it later. I just wanted to grab everything that seemed interesting at first.
I also made a document, and typed the words that I searched together.

- 1960 prom dresses
- short 1960s prom dress
- lace 1960s prom dress
- vintage 60s prom dress
Finding the Real Deal
Next step will probably be sorting through all the pictures and picking out my favorites. Then, maybe I’ll try to find some similar dresses, I really liked the look of them. This whole thing was a fun little trip back in time, and it gave me some great inspiration.
