So, I’ve been messing around with this idea of recreating a 1962 red Corvette. Not a real one, of course – I’m not made of money! I’m talking about, like, digitally. Let me walk you through what I did.

First, I scoured the internet for pictures. Tons of them. Every angle I could find. I wanted to get a real good feel for the car, you know? Not just the overall shape, but the little details, like the chrome trim, the emblems, the way the light hits the curves. It’s all important if you wanna do it right.

Next I selected and opened up my favorite design program. I laid down some basic shapes, just roughing it out at first. It was pretty blocky, like a kid’s drawing, honestly. But that’s okay! It’s all about building it up layer by layer.

Then started the long process of shaping those blocks. Pushing and pulling, tweaking and adjusting. It took forever, and honestly, it was kinda frustrating at times. I kept going back to my reference pictures, comparing, making tiny changes. Over and over again.

After the body started to look decent, I moved on to the details. I started with a basic red. Adding the chrome was a pain, but it really makes a difference. It’s those little shiny bits that make it pop, you know?

Then created wheels, lights, and those iconic badges. Each one of those was like a mini-project in itself. But seeing it all come together, bit by bit, that was super satisfying.

Finally, I did some lighting and rendering. This is where it really came to life. I played around with different angles and backgrounds, trying to find something that really showed off the car’s beauty.

It’s not perfect, of course. There are still things I’d like to tweak. But for a personal project, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It was a fun challenge, and I learned a lot along the way.
