Okay, so I decided to grab the Vogue September issue this year. You know how it is, everyone always talks about the September issue being the big one, the thickest one, the one that supposedly tells you everything about fall fashion. I figured, why not, let’s see what the fuss is about.

Getting it was a bit of a mission, actually. Went to my usual spot, they were already out. Had to try a couple of other places before I finally found one tucked away. Felt kinda like finding treasure, you know?
So, I finally get my hands on it. First thing you notice, yeah, it’s heavy. Like, seriously hefty. And the cover? Blake Lively. Looks pretty cool, I gotta say. Heard later that Baz Luhrmann, the movie guy, directed the whole photoshoot. Apparently, he was going for some Alfred Hitchcock vibe. You can kinda see it, I guess? It’s definitely dramatic.
Flipping Through The Thing
Took it home, made some coffee, and sat down to actually look through it. Man, it’s packed. Pages and pages of clothes, ads, articles.
- The Fashion: Lots of coats, boots, darker colors. Some stuff looks wearable, some stuff… well, it’s Vogue, right? High fashion. Fun to look at, probably not gonna wear it myself down the shops.
- The Ads: Almost as many ads as articles, feels like. All the big fancy brands.
- The Blake Lively Shoot: Found the main photoshoot inside. It’s definitely cinematic, like Baz Luhrmann’s movies. Very stylized. Whether you like it or not, it’s got a look, for sure.
Honestly, it took me a while to get through it all. It’s not something you just flick through in five minutes. It really is the big guide for what styles are supposedly coming for the fall season. Loads of ideas, trends, designer names flying around.
So, yeah. Got the September issue, looked through it. It’s an experience, that’s for sure. Heavy magazine, famous cover star, lots of pictures. Delivered on the promise of being the big issue. Now I just need somewhere to store this giant magazine.
