So, I’ve been eyeing this Glashutte Original PanoMaticLunar for a while now. You know, the one with the off-center dials and that gorgeous moon phase? Finally decided to pull the trigger and, man, it’s even better in person.

First thing I did was, obviously, wind it up. Felt smooth as butter. Then I set the time. The crown action is super satisfying, not too stiff, not too loose, just perfect.
Setting Everything Up
- Time: That was easy. Pulled the crown out to the second position, turned it, and boom, done.
- Date: This one’s a bit different. There’s a recessed pusher at 2 o’clock. I used a soft-tipped tool (didn’t want to scratch anything!) to press it in. Each press advances the date by one day. Took a little while to get it to today’s date, but it’s all good.
- Moon Phase: Now, this was the fun part. Glashutte has this little corrector tool. I used to be able to set the moon phase. I watched a short video on Youtube. Each press moves the moon disc a bit. I looked up the current moon phase online (gotta be precise, right?) and adjusted it accordingly.
After getting everything set, I just stared at it for a good few minutes. The way the light plays off the dial, the depth of the moon phase… seriously, it’s mesmerizing. I strapped it on, and it felt great on the wrist. Not too heavy, not too light, just the right weight.
I’ve been wearing it all day, and I keep catching myself glancing at it. It’s just such a beautifully made watch. Definitely a keeper!
