Getting Started with the Starfish Lows
Okay, so I finally managed to get my hands on a pair of the Jordan 1 Low Starfish. Been seeing them around online, thought the colorway looked pretty sharp, so I decided to pull the trigger when I got the chance.

First Look Out of the Box
Got the box delivered, pretty standard Jordan packaging. Opened it up, and yeah, that orange color is definitely bright. It’s got that classic Jordan 1 Low shape, which I’m familiar with. The white leather looked clean, and the black accents on the swoosh and laces give it a nice contrast. The overall first impression was solid. Felt decent in hand, not too heavy, not too light.
Trying Them On
Next step, obviously, was trying them on. I went with my usual Jordan 1 size. Slipped my foot in, and they fit as expected. A bit snug initially, like most new leather sneakers tend to be. You know that stiffness you get before they break in? Yeah, definitely felt that. Laced them up. The tongue felt okay, nothing special there. Stood up, walked around the room a bit. They felt… like Jordan 1 Lows. Not the most comfortable shoe straight out of the box for long walks, but fine for casual wear.
Taking Them for a Spin
Decided to wear them out for a quick trip to grab some coffee later that day. Just paired them with some regular jeans and a plain t-shirt. Wanted to see how they felt walking on pavement. They were alright. Again, not peak comfort, but definitely bearable for an hour or two. The sole felt sturdy enough. The look is probably the main draw here. They definitely stand out. Didn’t get any specific comments, but they felt good on feet, visually speaking.
Thoughts on Materials and Wear
After wearing them a couple of times now, here’s what I’ve noticed:
- The leather seems decent quality for a general release. It’s starting to crease a little around the toe box, which is totally normal.
- The orange panels haven’t scuffed yet, but I’m being reasonably careful.
- Soles are holding up fine, no weird wear patterns yet.
- They are breaking in slightly, getting a bit more comfortable with each wear.
Final Thoughts
So, the Jordan 1 Low Starfish. They look good, especially if you like that bright orange. They fit like you’d expect a J1 Low to fit. Comfort is average, standard for this model. Are they mind-blowing? Nah. Are they a solid addition if you like the colorway and the silhouette? Yeah, I’d say so. Happy I got them, they fill a spot in my rotation for a brighter sneaker. Just a straightforward shoe, does what it says on the tin. Looks good, feels okay. That’s pretty much my experience so far.
