Alright, guys, so I’ve been keeping an eye on these “Black Cat” Jordan 5s for a while. I remember when they first talked about them, I think it was back in May. I was hyped because I missed out on the originals way back in, what was it, 2007? So, yeah, I was definitely going to try and snag a pair this time around.

The Waiting Game
The first thing I did was, obviously, start scouring the internet for any info. I found out they were planning to release them on January 11th. That gave me plenty of time to prepare, or so I thought.
The Release Day Scramble
So, January 11th finally rolled around. I had my alarms set, multiple devices ready, and my credit card info locked and loaded. I was hitting up the Nike SNKRS app and a few other online stores that I knew were going to have them. Man, it was a frenzy! Sites were crashing, things were lagging, it was a total mess.
The Sweet Taste of Victory (Eventually)
I gotta admit, I was starting to sweat. I was refreshing pages like a madman, getting error messages, the whole nine yards. But then, after what felt like an eternity, BAM! I got through on the SNKRS app. I managed to add a pair to my cart, punched in my info as fast as humanly possible, and hit that “confirm” button.
- First, I kept refreshing many pages.
- Then, kept looking error messages.
- Luckily, got it in my cart!
I held my breath for a few seconds…and then, boom, confirmation! I actually scored a pair! I couldn’t believe it. I was so pumped, I think I actually yelled out loud.
Checking Out the Goods
When they finally arrived, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. Ripped open that box and there they were, in all their blacked-out glory. Just like the pictures, all black everything, with that cool elephant print on the sides and on the laces. Super clean, super sleek.

They fit perfectly, felt great on my feet. Honestly, they look even better in person. I know they were going for around $200, which is a bit steep, but for me, it was totally worth it to finally get my hands on these.
So yeah, that’s my story of how I copped the “Black Cat” Jordan 5s. It was a bit of a rollercoaster, but I’m stoked I managed to get them. Now I just gotta figure out where I’m gonna wear them first!
