So, I was in Paris, right? And everyone’s been talking about these fashion cafes. The Prada Cafe was high on my list, mostly ’cause I was super curious about the menu. What do they actually serve in a place like that, you know? Is it all tiny, super expensive portions, or what?
Getting My Hands on the Menu
Finding the place wasn’t too tough; it’s pretty out there. I walked in, and bam! It’s very… Prada. That famous mint green color is literally everywhere, all very sleek and shiny. Honestly, it felt more like I’d walked into one of their fancy handbag shops, just with tables and chairs. Anyway, I was on a mission: I needed to see that menu. I just went up and asked for one, and they gave me this rather elegant looking card. No high-tech tablets or QR codes, just a good old-fashioned menu, which I actually appreciated.
So, what’s actually on the Prada Cafe Paris menu? Well, it’s pretty much what you’d guess a fancy Italian-inspired cafe run by a massive fashion label would offer.
- For the early birds: They had all the breakfast stuff. Think pastries that looked too good to eat, some fruit options, fancy yogurts, and of course, everything was made to look perfect for a photo. Coffees, teas, all the usual suspects but with those Prada price tags attached.
- Lunch and what they call ‘small bites’: I saw salads, some quite posh-looking sandwiches, maybe a pasta dish or two on offer. Nothing that looked too filling. They definitely push the “small bites” angle and things for “aperitivo” as it gets later in the day.
- The sweet treats: This is probably where they get a lot of people. Cakes, tiny little tarts, chocolates. Seriously, every single thing looked like a miniature piece of art. I spotted some pistachio desserts that looked incredible.
- Drinks, drinks, drinks: Besides all the coffee, they had fresh juices, some very fancy sounding sodas, and naturally, a whole list of wines and cocktails for that chic aperitivo crowd.
So, what did I end up getting?
To be totally honest, after I took a good look at the prices, I decided to keep things pretty simple. I got myself an espresso and one of their little signature pastries. The coffee was decent, nice and strong. The pastry? Tiny, absolutely beautiful, and yeah, it cost a bit. But hey, I told myself I was there for the whole experience, and mostly to get the lowdown on that menu.
It’s a bit funny, you know. I was thinking back to when I first started traveling years ago. My main goal then was to hunt down the absolute cheapest street food, the most “real” local dives. A €2 coffee gulped down standing at a crowded bar was totally my thing. And now, here I am, happily paying like, ten times that for a tiny espresso in a designer cafe. Not saying one way is better than the other, just different phases of life, I suppose. Sometimes you’re looking for the rough and ready, sometimes you want the smooth green velvet. This visit was definitely a green velvet kind of day.
The whole place is basically built for Instagram, let’s be honest. You could see people were there snapping photos as much as they were for the actual food or drinks. But the staff were polite, didn’t make me feel rushed or anything. So, yeah, the Prada Cafe Paris menu isn’t going to be your daily coffee spot unless you’ve got really deep pockets. But for a one-off thing, or if you’re super into that whole high-fashion lifestyle scene, it’s definitely an experience. I got my menu information, and a decent (if rather pricey) coffee out of it. Mission accomplished, I’d say.
