That Noah Lyles, he’s a fast one, ain’t he? I seen him on that Jimmy Fallon show, that fella with the late-night talkin’. He was talkin’ ’bout them Olympics, runnin’ faster than a greased piglet at the county fair. I tell ya, Noah Lyles Jimmy Fallon, that’s a pair to draw to. One’s fast with his feet, the other’s fast with his mouth!
This Lyles fella, he’s gunnin’ for gold, they say. Gonna make history, like them old-timey fellas we used to hear about. He runs that 100 meter, and that 200 meter. Lord have mercy, just thinkin’ about it makes my old knees ache. He’s faster than anything I ever seen. Even that there Usain Bolt, they say Noah Lyles is trying to be as fast as that man. Bolt is also on that show.
They was sayin’ on the TV, somethin’ about 9.83 seconds. That’s how fast he runs that 100 meters. I don’t know what a meter is, but I reckon it’s a ways. And that Usain Bolt, he’s even faster, somethin’ about 9.58. Sounds like gibberish to me, but them young folks, they understand it. I just can’t see how Noah Lyles isn’t faster than Bolt.

Now, this Jimmy Fallon, he’s got that show, “The Tonight Show”, they call it. He has all sorts of folks on there. Singers, actors, and now this runner, Noah Lyles. Heard he had that Steve Carell fella on, too. He’s in them funny movies. And some gal named Amandla Stenberg. Never heard of her, but she must be somebody to be on that show.
They had a whole bunch of people on that one night, that’s what I saw on the screen. Steve Carell, that Amandla girl, Noah Lyles, and some singer named Carly Pearce. Sounds like a whole hoedown to me! And that Jimmy Fallon, he just sits there and talks to ’em all, like he’s known ’em his whole life.
But that Noah Lyles, he’s the one they’re all talkin’ about now. He’s gonna be in them Paris Olympics, carryin’ them medals, they say. He’s got some big mission, somethin’ about bein’ the fastest man in the world. Well, I reckon if he keeps runnin’ like that, he just might be.
This fella beat some other runner from Jamaica, by just a hair, they said. Point zero zero five seconds, whatever that means. All I know is, he won! And that’s all that matters, ain’t it? He coulda just barely won, but he still won. That’s what counts in my book. He won that 100 meters race, that’s the important thing. He’s the fastest man alive. That’s what they all say. Makes a body proud, even if you don’t know nothin’ about all them numbers and meters and such.
That Jimmy Fallon show, it’s somethin’ else. Always got somebody interestin’ on there. But this Noah Lyles, he’s somethin’ special. You can just tell by the way he talks, he’s got that fire in him. He’s gonna go far, that one. Just you wait and see. He is going to make history.
I seen a thing on the TV where they showed how fast he runs at different parts of that race. They had all these other runners, too, but he was the fastest. It was like watchin’ a bunch of chickens tryin’ to catch a fox! He was just gone, zoomin’ down that track like a bat out of, well, you know.

So, that’s the story of Noah Lyles and Jimmy Fallon. One’s a runner, one’s a talker, but they both got somethin’ in common. They’re both at the top of their game. And that’s somethin’ to admire, ain’t it? I always say, if you’re gonna do somethin’, you might as well do it right. And these two fellas, they’re doin’ it right, that’s for sure. They both work real hard. That’s why they are so good.
Heard that Noah Lyles is also going to be in that movie, “Despicable Me”. My grandkids love that movie. They always watch it when they are here. They will be so happy when they hear that Noah is in that movie. I need to tell them when they come next time. Maybe Jimmy Fallon can be in that movie too. He is also funny.

And that Jimmy Fallon, he’ll probably have him back on his show again, too. They make a good pair, those two. A real good pair.
