Want to Know the Tiffany Pokeball Price? Read This First

So, I was scrolling through my social media feed the other day, and I saw this ad for a Tiffany and Pokemon collaboration. I’m a huge Pokemon fan, and I’ve always admired Tiffany’s jewelry, so you can imagine my excitement. I immediately got obsessed with finding out more.

First, I started searching online to get the basic info. Seems like this collab is officially called the “Tiffany & Arsham Studio & Pokémon” capsule collection. It’s designed by this artist named Daniel Arsham. I found out that it features nine different jewelry pieces, like pendants and necklaces, and they have six Pokemon: Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, Jigglypuff, Cubone, and Mew. I love that they chose some classic first-gen Pokemon!

Then came the big question: the price. This is where things got wild. I mean, it’s Tiffany, so I expected it to be expensive, but wow. The prices range from $1,290 all the way up to $29,000! I saw some sources even mentioned one piece at $31,000! Apparently, there are two sizes for some of the pendants, with the larger ones being the super expensive ones. I guess those are for the serious collectors with deep pockets.

Next, I looked into the materials. It turns out they’re using sterling silver, and some pieces even have diamond accents. I’m not a jewelry expert, but that sounds pretty fancy. And get this – each piece comes in a special Tiffany Blue-colored Poke Ball. How cool is that? As a Pokemon fan, I think that’s an amazing touch.

Now, for the release info. I found out that the collection will be launched on November 29, 2023. However, it seems like it will only be available at the Tiffany & Co. Landmark in New York, starting December 1st. A bit of a bummer for those of us who don’t live there, but I guess it makes it even more exclusive.

I spent the rest of the day just looking at pictures and imagining owning one of these pieces. Here’s what my “research” (aka daydreaming) process involved:

  • Scouring websites: I looked at every article and blog post I could find about the collection, trying to get more details and pictures.
  • Picture gazing: I spent a good chunk of time just staring at the photos of the jewelry, especially the Pikachu and Mew pendants.
  • Price checking (repeatedly): Yeah, I kept going back to those price tags, just to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.
  • Mental debates: I had full-on arguments with myself about which piece I’d get if I could afford it. Pikachu or Mew? The smaller, “affordable” one, or the crazy expensive large one?

In the end, I realized that I am not going to buy one of these. The price is way too high for me. But, it was still fun to learn about the collection and imagine what it would be like to own a piece of this unique collaboration. Maybe one day I’ll get lucky and find a more affordable Pokemon-themed jewelry. Until then, I’ll just keep admiring these from afar.
