Okay, so let’s talk about this Anastasia Beverly Hills Pure Hollywood liquid lipstick that I tried out. I’ve been seeing it all over the place and figured I should see what the fuss is about.

I picked up the tube from a store – you know, wanted to see the color in person. It’s called “Pure Hollywood,” which, honestly, sounds kind of fancy. When I first opened it up, I noticed it’s this pale, kind of nude color with a bit of a mauve undertone. Looked pretty nice in the tube.
Tried it on, and it goes on like a regular liquid lipstick. But here’s the thing, it dried down super matte. Like, really matte. And it happened pretty fast, too. I did the whole blot-with-a-tissue thing, and nothing came off, so that’s a plus for being smudge-proof.
- It felt pretty weightless, which was nice. Didn’t feel like I had a ton of product caked on my lips.
- The color stayed put for a good while. I ate, I drank, and it didn’t budge.
Now, I also heard some buzz about a similar color in a movie, something called “Arabian Knights” by Ilia. Apparently, it’s used for a berry lip look. I haven’t tried that one, but it sounds interesting. Might check it out later for a different vibe.
My final thoughts?
This Pure Hollywood lipstick is definitely long-lasting and matte as heck. If that’s your jam, you’ll probably dig it. I’m still on the fence about whether it’s my everyday go-to, but for a night out or when I want my lip color to really stay put, it’s a solid option. I’m thinking I might grab some other shades from Anastasia Beverly Hills, too, just to see what else they’ve got. Maybe something a little more…colorful? We’ll see.
