So, I was in NYC last week and you know I had to check out this Chopard store I’d heard about. I’d been eyeing a new watch for ages, and since Chopard is, like, the king of fancy watches and jewelry, I figured this was the place to go.

First, I looked up where their stores were in the city. Turns out they have two. One’s their new flagship store in the Crown Building on Fifth Avenue, and it just opened up back on December 5th. The other one is on Madison Ave. I decided to hit up the Madison Ave store since it was closer to where I was staying.

Finding the Place

The address is 709 Madison Ave. Getting there was a breeze. I just hopped on the subway, and got off at a stop a few blocks away. A quick walk, and bam, I was there. You can’t miss it, it looks super swanky from the outside.

Stepping Inside

The minute I walked in, I was blown away. It’s all sleek and modern, but still really classy, you know? And the staff? Super friendly and helpful, not at all snooty like you might expect from a place like this. I was greeted by a guy, who introduced himself and showed me around. I told him I was in the market for a watch, and he walked me over to their watch section.

The Watch Selection

Trying Them On

It was like being a kid in a candy store, seriously. I finally narrowed it down to two watches, both were stunning, but way out of my price range. The guy was super patient, he even explained the whole history of the Chopard brand. Apparently, some artisan watchmaker named Louis-Ulysse Chopard started the company way back in 1860, and then his son Paul took over in 1937, followed by the next family member in 1943. They currently have about 1.3K employees all over the world.

The End Result

Let me tell you, in the end, I didn’t end up buying a watch. But it was still a cool experience, just browsing around and seeing all that amazing craftsmanship up close. I thanked the sales guy for his time, and he gave me his card in case I changed my mind later. Maybe someday, when I win the lottery, I’ll be back to buy that dream watch!

If you’re ever in NYC and have some time to kill, I definitely recommend checking out the Chopard store on Madison Ave. Even if you’re not buying, it’s worth a visit just to see their amazing pieces.
