Okay, so, I was browsing around the mall the other day, just killing time, when I wandered into Macy’s. You know how it is, you walk in and the first thing you encounter is that wall of perfume testers. Normally, I just breeze right past, but something caught my eye this time – a bright yellow bottle shaped like a diamond. It was the Versace Yellow Diamond.

Now, I’m not usually one for fancy designer fragrances, but the bottle really got me. “Pure as sunlight,” the little card next to it said. I thought “Okay, let’s see about that”. So, I picked it up and gave it a little spritz on one of those paper strips.

First Impression
Whoa! It was like a burst of sunshine, just like they said. Super bright and citrusy, but not in a harsh, cleaning-product kind of way. It was more like a fresh, juicy lemon with a hint of sweetness, like maybe some pear in there too. It smelled really clean and refreshing, perfect for a hot summer day.

Trying It On
I liked it enough on the paper to try it on my skin. I sprayed a bit on my wrist and let it sit for a while as I continued to wander around the store. The initial burst of citrus mellowed out a bit, and I started to smell some flowers. I’m not great at identifying specific flowers, but it was a light, airy floral scent, not too heavy or overpowering. I think I could smell freesia and maybe some water lily. It was a really pretty, feminine scent.

Later That Day
The fragrance lasted a surprisingly long time. Even after a few hours, I could still catch a whiff of it on my wrist. The citrus had faded, and it was mostly a soft, musky scent with a hint of that floral from earlier. It wasn’t super strong, but it was definitely there, like a subtle, pleasant reminder of the initial burst of sunshine.

Final Thoughts
Honestly, I was really impressed with this Versace Yellow Diamond. I ended up buying the gift set, cause, why not? It’s not my usual style, but there’s something about it that just makes me feel happy and bright when I wear it. It’s like a little dose of sunshine in a bottle. It’s definitely a great daytime fragrance, especially for spring or summer. If you’re looking for something fresh, bright, and a little bit fancy, I’d say give it a try. You might be surprised!

I remember reading somewhere that Versace’s first fragrance was released in 1981, and this one was launched in 2011. And I heard from some girls talking about that the Versace Eau fraiche is a masterpiece hands down best Versace fragrance. I haven’t tried that one yet, maybe next time.
