Alright, let’s gab about these here Maison Mihara Yasuhiro shoes, the ones with that funky, melty lookin’ sole. Folks keep askin’, “How do them shoes fit?” Well, it ain’t as simple as lookin’ at the number, lemme tell ya.
First off, them shoes, they got that chunky sole. Looks kinda like a messed-up Converse or somethin’, but that’s the style, I guess. The top part, that’s canvas, feels light as a feather, which is nice for my old bones.
Now, about the size. See, they say it depends. If your foot’s wide, and you usually wear, say, a size 9 and a half, you might wanna go up to a 10 to be comfy. But if you don’t mind a snug fit, you could maybe squeeze into a 9. It’s all a bit of a guessing game, ain’t it?
I heard some fella sayin’ the shoe’s openin’ is a bit wide, and the whole shoe’s kinda wide too. He was sayin’ if you wear a 46 in other shoes, maybe try a 45 in these. But then again, everyone’s feet are different, like noses or somethin’. My neighbor Betty, she’s got feet like boats, so what fits her ain’t gonna fit me.

- Regular feet? Well, you’re on your own, honey.
They got this chart, you know, with all them numbers. Says a US men’s 7 is a women’s 8, and a UK 6, and a European 39. Makes my head spin, all them numbers. I just look at the American size, that’s all I understand.
Here’s how I do it, and it mostly works for me. I stand up with the shoes on, and I wiggle my toes. If I can stick a finger, about this much

between my longest toe and the end of the shoe, then it’s probably okay. And then I walk around a bit. If it ain’t rubbin’ or squeezin’ too much, then it’s good enough for church or the market.
This fella, Mihara Yasuhiro, he’s the one makin’ these shoes. Japanese fella, I think. He makes all sorts of clothes, not just shoes. Fancy stuff, probably costs a pretty penny. But these shoes, they’re somethin’ else, got that special look.
So, there you have it. Ain’t no easy answer to how these shoes fit. You gotta try ’em on, wiggle your toes, and walk around. And if they feel good, then they fit. Don’t let them fancy numbers confuse ya. And if you got a wide foot, remember what I told ya, maybe go a little bigger.
And if they don’t fit? Well, you can always give ’em to your neighbor Betty. Like I said, she’s got feet like boats.
One more thing, they got all sorts of styles. Some are canvas, some are leather, some are even that fake leather stuff. But the fit, it’s mostly the same for all of ’em. It’s that sole, you see, that makes them different, but the fit mostly stays the same I think.
So before you buy these shoes, think about your feet. Are they wide? Are they narrow? Are they somewhere in between? And then, when the shoes arrive, don’t just look at them, put ‘em on. Walk around the house. Wear ‘em for a bit. That’s the only way you’re gonna know if they fit.
Remember, it ain’t rocket science, it’s just shoes. But good fitting shoes can make all the difference, specially when you got a lot of walking to do. Or even just standing around gossiping with the girls after church. You don’t want your feet hurtin’ then, do ya?
