Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this here Tom Ford book. I seen a lot of things in my day, but this here book, it’s somethin’ else. It’s got all them fancy pictures and all. Tom Ford, they say he’s a big shot, a real fancy pants designer.
This book, it’s called “Tom Ford by Tom Ford”. Sounds kinda silly, don’t it? Like sayin’ “Mary by Mary.” But I reckon he’s proud of his work, that Tom fella. He makes clothes and movies, they say he is a fashion designer and filmmaker. A real jack-of-all-trades, that one. He started that Tom Ford brand in 2005, just selling stuff with his name on it. That’s some big dreams for a young’un.
He was born in 1961, I heard. That makes him a lot younger than me. He went to school for fancy buildin’ insides, then worked for them New York fashion people. Some names like Perry Ellis and Cathy Hardwick. Big city stuff, not like ’round here. Then he went to work for Gucci. That’s a name I heard before, even out here in the sticks.
This here book, it’s full of pictures of them fancy clothes he makes. Lots of black and white, shiny stuff. Reminds me of them old timey movie stars, all dressed up. He likes them dark colors, kinda mysterious lookin’. They say he’s known for fancy materials, you know, the kind you only see rich folks wearin’.

Now, I ain’t no fashion expert. I wear what’s comfortable and what keeps me warm. But I can see why folks might like this here Tom Ford stuff. It’s different. It’s bold. It’s like nothin’ you’d find ’round here.
If you like lookin’ at pretty pictures, and you’re interested in that Tom Ford fella, then maybe you’d like this book. It ain’t cheap, I reckon. But nothin’ fancy ever is. It’s a coffee table book, I guess. Somethin’ to put out when company comes over, make ’em think you’re all fancy and cultured.
Me, I’d rather have a good ol’ fashioned quilt than a Tom Ford dress. But that’s just me. This book, it’s a glimpse into a world I don’t know much about. A world of glamour and fashion and all that. It’s interestin’, I’ll give it that.
They call him a fashion icon, this Tom Ford. I reckon he is, to some folks. He’s made a name for himself, that’s for sure. And this book, it’s like a big ol’ advertisement for him and his fancy clothes.
So, if you’re into that kinda thing, the “Tom Ford by Tom Ford” book might be just what you’re lookin’ for. If you like Tom Ford clothing, you can have this book. It’s a big, shiny book full of pictures of a world most of us will never see. But hey, it’s somethin’ to look at, ain’t it? And it sure is different from anything ’round here. Maybe that’s why it’s so darn interestin’.
He worked hard, I’ll give him that. Went from drawin’ buildin’ insides to makin’ fancy clothes that cost more than my whole house. That’s somethin’, ain’t it? It just goes to show ya, you never know where life’s gonna take ya. One day you’re in Texas, the next you are this big-shot Tom Ford with your name on a book that is all about your clothes, like a big brag book.
