Okay, so I’ve been wanting to do something fun with my kid’s room, and I thought, why not give it a Thomas the Train theme? He loves that little blue engine, and I figured it’d be a cool project to work on together.
First things first, I started by looking up some ideas online. I typed in “Thomas the Train room decor” and found tons of stuff. There were so many things like wall decals, bed sheets, and even rugs. I got a few things like wall sticker, and then I decided I was going to try to make some of my own decorations. It felt more personal that way, you know?
I decided to start with some simple prints. I grabbed some pictures of Thomas and his friends from the internet, the ones my son likes the best. Then I printed them out on some nice, thick paper I had lying around.
Next, I needed some frames. I found these cheap wooden ones at a craft store near my place. I thought about painting them, but then I figured, why not keep it simple? The natural wood looked pretty good with the colorful pictures.
Once I got the prints in the frames, I started thinking about where to put them. I cleared a space on one of the walls in his room. I didn’t want to make it too cluttered, so I just picked a few of the best ones.
I hung them up, trying to make it look nice and balanced. My kid helped me with this part, telling me which ones he liked where. It was actually pretty fun, like a little bonding moment for us.
The Finishing Touches
After the prints were up, I added a few more things to complete the look. I put a Thomas the Train bedspread on his bed and found a cute little night light that projects trains onto the ceiling.
- Printed out some Thomas the Train pictures.
- Bought some simple wooden frames.
- Hung the framed prints on the wall.
- Added a Thomas bedspread and a train night light.
It’s not perfect, but my son loves it, and that’s what matters. Plus, it was a fun little project to work on. I’m thinking about adding more stuff later, maybe a bookshelf shaped like a train or something. We’ll see. For now, it’s a pretty cool Thomas the Train room, if I do say so myself.
