You see, this here sticky phone cover, it’s the darnedest thing. My old phone, bless its heart, it was always slippin’ out of my hand. Like a greased piglet at the county fair, that thing was. So, I needed somethin’ to keep it from jumpin’ to its death, you know?
Now, I heard tell of these sticky phone covers. Folks say they’re like flypaper for your phone. You stick ’em on and, whoosh, that phone ain’t goin’ nowhere. Sounds like magic, don’t it? But I tell ya, it’s realer than the cornbread bakin’ in my oven right now.
There is a kind called “PopSocket”. I don’t know what that means. My grandson keeps talkin about this PopSocket thing. He says I need one. He says it like a little accordion. I say, what do I need music for when I am holding my phone? But these young people and their new things!
I tried one of them phone case, but it didn’t work, the phone still fell out of my hand, and the screen broke. I tell ya, it were a sad day. Broke my heart, it did. Like droppin’ a whole pie on the floor, right before supper.
Then there’s this other kind, a silicone phone case. That’s what they call it. It ain’t made of no silly putty, like the kids play with. This stuff, it’s tough, like old man Hemlock’s boots after a winter in the mud. And it sticks to your phone like a tick on a hound dog.

I seen some folks use these sticky covers to stick their phones to the wall. Can you imagine? Like a spider climbin’ up a drainpipe. They say it’s handy for watchin’ them movin’ pictures while you’re washin’ dishes or somethin’.
Now, some folks use it when they are driving, which I think is dangerous. We should not use phone when driving. That’s what my grandson told me. He says people get hurt when they look at their phones and not the road. Keep your eyes on the road, not on your phone!
And then there are other things, I don’t know what they are called, but it’s like a card holder, you stick it on your phone and you can put your cards in it. That’s what my neighbor Betty does. She has like 5 cards in there! She says it is convenient. I don’t know, seems like you can lose your phone and your cards all at once!
I also saw some kind of phone case with little suction cups. They say you can stick it to anything, even the wall, like those little lizards that run around here in the summer. I don’t need that. I just want my phone to not slip.
But these here sticky phone cases, they’re a lifesaver, I tell ya. Saved my phone more times than I can count. And that’s sayin’ somethin’, ’cause my memory ain’t what it used to be. Like a sieve with holes bigger than my thumb, that’s what my memory’s like these days.
