Second Gen Vanquish: The Number of Aston Martins Ever Produced

Date:

Alright folks, let’s dive into this little research project I tackled! The question on my mind was: “how many second gen Aston Martin Vanquish were made?” It seemed like a simple enough question, but figuring it out? That took some digging!

Second Gen Vanquish: The Number of Aston Martins Ever Produced

Started with the Obvious: Google, of Course

  • First off, I punched the question into Google. Duh.
  • Sifted through a bunch of articles, reviews, and forum posts. You know, the usual internet rabbit hole.
  • A lot of these just gave me basic specs or talked about the car in general. Not the specific numbers I was after!

Next Up: Aston Martin’s Website and Official Channels

  • Hit up the official Aston Martin website. Figured they HAD to have production numbers somewhere, right?
  • Nope. Mostly marketing fluff and current models.
  • Tried searching their press releases and historical archives. Nada.

Time to Get Nerdy: Car Forums and Enthusiast Sites

  • This is where I actually started making some headway.
  • Spent a good chunk of time browsing Aston Martin enthusiast forums. These guys are SERIOUS about their cars.
  • Found a few threads discussing production numbers, but nothing definitive. Lots of “I heard…” or “Someone told me…”
  • Started piecing together information from different sources. Someone mentioned VIN ranges, another person talked about production years, etc.

Reaching Out: Contacting Experts and Owners

  • Decided to try a more direct approach.
  • Found a few Aston Martin clubs and sent emails asking if anyone had production figures.
  • Even tried contacting some classic car appraisers and auction houses. Figured they might have access to that kind of data.
  • Got a few responses! Some were helpful, some were… not so much.

The “Aha!” Moment (Sort Of)

Second Gen Vanquish: The Number of Aston Martins Ever Produced
  • After all that digging, I managed to cobble together a rough estimate.
  • Based on VIN ranges, production years, and information gleaned from forums and experts, I figured somewhere around 2,500 to 3,000 second-generation Vanquishes were made.
  • But here’s the thing: it’s STILL an estimate. Aston Martin doesn’t seem to release official production numbers.

The Frustrating Conclusion

  • So, did I get a definitive answer? Nope.
  • But I got a pretty good idea. Good enough for bragging rights at the pub, anyway.
  • The lesson here? Sometimes, the internet doesn’t have all the answers. Even when it comes to fancy British sports cars.

My Final Thoughts

Look, I spent a good chunk of time on this, and while I can’t give you a rock-solid number, hopefully, this journey into the murky world of car production figures was somewhat entertaining. Maybe someone at Aston Martin will read this and finally release the official numbers! Until then, 2,500 to 3,000 it is! Cheers!
