Okay, so today, I wanted to take some photos, specifically with the theme “scenic roads surreal british photography”. Let me tell you, it was quite an adventure. I grabbed my camera, a trusty old thing, and hopped in my car. The goal was to find some of those winding, picturesque British country roads and give them a bit of a surreal twist. Sounds easy enough, right?

First off, finding the right roads was a bit of a challenge. I drove around for a good few hours, exploring different areas. You know, those narrow lanes with hedges on either side, the kind that look like they lead to some magical place. I finally stumbled upon a few spots that seemed promising. They had that quintessential British countryside charm, all green and lush.

Once I found the locations, I started snapping away. I wanted to capture the essence of these roads but also add something extra, something a bit… off. I played around with different angles, trying to get some unusual perspectives. I crouched low, climbed a few fences (oops), and even lay down on the road a couple of times. I’m sure i was look strange for some walkers, but all worth it.

  • Started by driving around to find suitable locations.
  • Focused on capturing the typical British countryside scenery.
  • Experimented with different camera angles and perspectives.
  • Tried to add a surreal element to the photos.

Then came the fun part—editing. I wanted to enhance that surreal feeling. I messed around with the colors, making them a bit more vibrant and dream-like. I also played with the contrast and shadows to create a more dramatic, otherworldly look. It was all about finding that balance between reality and a dream world, you know?

The whole process took me the better part of a day. From driving around, scouting locations, taking the photos, to finally editing them. It was tiring, sure, but also incredibly satisfying. Seeing the final images come together, with that perfect blend of familiar British scenery and a touch of the surreal, was a great feeling.

Surreal Elements

To achieve the surreal look, I did a few things. I used a slightly longer exposure time in some shots to give the moving parts of the scene, like the clouds or the trees, a bit of a blur. This added a dreamy quality to the images. I also experimented with double exposure, layering two different images on top of each other to create a sense of depth and mystery.

Editing-wise, I boosted the saturation and vibrance to make the colors pop. I also used some filters to give the photos a vintage, almost faded look, which added to the surreal vibe. It’s amazing how a few tweaks in editing can totally transform the mood of a photo.

All in all, it was a successful day. I managed to capture some really cool shots that I’m pretty proud of. It was a great reminder of how much fun photography can be, especially when you let your creativity run wild. And hey, I got to explore some beautiful parts of the British countryside in the process. Not a bad way to spend a day, right?
