Okay, so I’ve been on this whole “better hair” journey lately, and it all started with realizing my old, beat-up brush was probably doing more harm than good. Seriously, it was one of those cheap plastic things with missing bristles – a real hair-snagging nightmare.

Time for an Upgrade!
First, I hit up some online stores, just browsing, you know? I was totally overwhelmed. There are, like, a million different types of brushes! Paddle brushes, round brushes, vented brushes, boar bristle brushes… my head was spinning. So I decided to do some actual research.
I started reading articles and watching videos. I learned that different brushes are good for different things. Like, round brushes are great for creating volume and curls when you blow-dry, while paddle brushes are better for detangling and smoothing. And those boar bristle brushes? Apparently, they’re amazing for distributing your hair’s natural oils and making it shiny.
My Hair Type
- My hair is kind of wavy and medium-thick, and it tends to get frizzy.
- It is very easy to get tangled and knotted.
Based on my “research” (aka a few hours down the internet rabbit hole), I figured a mixed-bristle brush – one with both boar bristles and nylon pins – might be a good fit for me. The boar bristles would help with the shine and smoothness, and the nylon pins would help with detangling.
Putting it to the Test
I ended up buying a mid-range * the new one arrived, I tried to use it. At first, I brushed my hair the same way as the old *, I found out it is hard to handle and the brush can not go through the hair.
I realized that I should brush my hair in samll protions. After I tried this way, it worked pretty well.I felt my * seems to become more smooth.
I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now, and I gotta say, I’m seeing a difference. My hair definitely looks shinier and feels softer. And it’s way less of a struggle to brush through it in the morning. It’s not a miracle cure for frizz or anything, but it’s definitely an improvement!
So, yeah, that’s my hairbrush story. Maybe not the most exciting adventure, but hey, every little bit helps when you’re trying to take better care of yourself, right?
