Man, I’ve been eyeing the Rolex Air-King 2022 for a while now. It’s a pretty sweet watch, and I finally decided to pull the trigger. It wasn’t a quick decision, though. I did a ton of digging around to make sure it was the right move.
First, I started checking out what people were saying about it online. Is it worth the money? Turns out, lots of folks think the Air-King is a solid investment, especially since you can snag one at a decent price, whether it’s brand new or pre-owned. I mean, it’s a Rolex, so it’s not exactly cheap, but it’s not as crazy expensive as some of their other models.
Then I got curious about the older models. I found out that the Air-King 116900 isn’t being made anymore. That one came out in 2016, and now they’ve replaced it with the 126900. But that doesn’t mean the older one is a bad choice. In fact, some people seem to like it just as much. I looked up some prices and saw that a pre-owned 34mm Air King 114200 with a white dial was going for around $6,000. Not bad, right?

- Checked out the older 116900 from 2016 and the price is about $9,000 for second-hand.
- I saw that a pre-owned 34mm Air King 1002 with a silver dial was going for around $2,000.
So, I spent a good chunk of time comparing the new and old models. I was looking at the designs, the features, and, of course, the prices. It was a tough call, but eventually, I decided to go for the new Air-King 126900. I just liked the updated look and feel of it.
Finding one wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. I called up a few authorized dealers, and they were all out of stock. Apparently, these things are pretty popular. But I wasn’t giving up that easily. I hopped online, did some more searching, and finally found one on a reputable online marketplace for about $10,000. It was in perfect condition, just like new.
I placed the order, and a few days later, the watch arrived. Man, it was even better in person than in the pictures. It felt solid and well-made, and the design was just awesome. I’ve been wearing it every day since, and I gotta say, I’m really happy with my purchase. It’s a great watch, and I think it was definitely worth the investment.
