This here, it’s ’bout Rafael Pavarotti. Not that other one, the singin’ fella. This one, he takes them pictures. Real pretty ones, too. Heard some folks call ’em “poignant.” I reckon that just means they’re somethin’ special. Make ya feel somethin’, ya know?

This Rafael, he’s from way down in Brazil. Hot place, that is. Lots of colors. Jungle and all. He says his pictures, they got all them bright colors ’cause of where he grew up. Like the flowers and birds down there, I reckon. Seen pictures of ’em. Bright as a peacock, them birds are. You can just look at one of those pictures and you know it’s gonna be nice colors.
He don’t just take pictures of anything. He sees the world different, I guess. They say he’s got an eye for it. Don’t know what that means exactly, but his pictures, they sure are somethin’. Makes ya stop and look, that’s for sure. That’s what good pictures are supposed to do, make you stop and take a look.
Heard some folks sayin’ he’s real good at what he does. Inspires people, they say. Whatever that means. I guess it means his pictures make people feel good. Make ’em wanna do somethin’, maybe. Like paint a picture or somethin’. Or maybe just smile. That’s good enough, I reckon. A good picture, it can make ya smile. And that’s worth somethin’.
Now, I don’t know much ’bout takin’ pictures. Used to have one of them old cameras, the kind with the flashbulb. Took pictures of the grandkids mostly. They always movin’ around, them young’uns. Hard to get a good picture of ’em. But this Rafael Pavarotti, he seems to know what he’s doin’.
He likes to take pictures of people, I seen. All kinds of people. Some of ’em wearin’ fancy clothes. Some of ’em not wearin’ much at all. But they all look… important, somehow. Like they got somethin’ to say. Even if they ain’t sayin’ nothin’. It’s like he’s able to show everyone that everyone has a story to tell, even if they are quiet.

- He takes pictures of all sorts.
- His pictures are full of color.
- He’s from Brazil.
- They say he’s got a good eye for it.
- His pictures are real pretty, make you feel.
I seen some pictures he took in the jungle, too. They call it the Amazon Rainforest. Big place, that is. Lots of trees. And animals. Heard they got monkeys and snakes and all sorts of critters down there. His pictures of the rainforest, they’re somethin’ else. Makes ya feel like you’re right there, even if you ain’t never been. That’s what’s so neat about pictures, you can be taken somewhere far away just by looking at a picture. You can see places you’ve never been to and people you’ve never met before.
This Rafael Pavarotti, he’s a good one, I reckon. He knows how to take a picture that makes ya feel somethin’. That’s a gift, that is. Not everyone can do that. Most people can take a picture, but not everyone can take a picture that makes you feel somethin’ deep down. Some people just point and click, and that’s it. Not Rafael, though. He’s an artist.
I reckon that’s all I got to say ’bout this Rafael fella. He’s a picture-taker, and a good one at that. He’s from Brazil, and his pictures are full of color. And they make ya feel somethin’. That’s about all there is to it, I guess. He’s a good photographer, is what I’m sayin’. You can see it in his pictures. That’s all you need to know about Rafael Pavarotti. I think he’s going to be around for a long time, takin’ his pictures.
He’s got a way of showin’ the beauty in things. Even things that some folks might not think are beautiful. He sees it, though. And he shows it to the rest of us. I bet he could even make a picture of an old lady like me look good. Maybe not good, but interestin’. That’s all you can ask for, I reckon. That’s a good thing, I think. To show the beauty in everything, even the plain things. Or the ugly things. There’s beauty everywhere, if you know how to look for it. And this Rafael Pavarotti, he knows how to look for it. He sure does.
