Purple & White Dunks: Are These the Coolest Sneakers This Year? (Buyers Guide)

Okay, so I’ve been wanting some purple and white Dunks for a while now. I finally decided to just go for it and try to customize a pair myself. Here’s how it went down.

Getting Started

First things first, I needed some shoes. I snagged a pair of plain white Nike Dunks online. I made sure they were the right size, obviously. You don’t wanna mess that up.

Next, I needed the paint.I knew it needed to be something that would stay put.I went with the purple, of course, had to match what I wanted.

Then the other stuff, I got some brushes, some tape, some other things, etc.

The Painting Process

I taped off all the parts of the shoe that I wanted to stay white. This took a while, gotta be careful to get those lines crisp! I used some painter’s tape, the blue stuff, you know?

Once everything was taped up, I started painting.I did super thin coats, just to see first. It looked kinda streaky at first, but I just kept going. Thin coats, let it dry, another thin coat. I think I did like three or four coats in total.

The Big Reveal

After the paint was completely dry (I waited a full day, just to be safe), I peeled off the tape. Man, that was satisfying. Seeing those clean lines appear… chef’s kiss!

There were a couple of tiny spots where the paint had bled a little, but I touched those up with a tiny brush and some white paint. No biggie.

Final Touches

I had some special shoe protector spray, and I used it all over.

And that’s it! My custom purple and white Dunks were done. I’m so happy with how they turned out, it was not bad!
