Priscilla Presley Style in the 60s: Get Her Look

Alright, alright, let’s talk about this Priscilla girl and what she was wearin’ back in them sixties. You know, the young folks always got their own way of dressin’, and back then, it was somethin’ else.

Priscilla Presley’s 60s Style: A Look Back

First off, that hair, oh my! They called it a beehive, looked like a big ol’ wasps’ nest sittin’ on her head. Took a whole can of hairspray to keep that thing up, I bet. And the makeup, Lord have mercy! Black lines swoopin’ out from her eyes, like a bird in flight, and all sorts of bright colors on her eyelids. Blue, green, sometimes even purple, like a rainbow exploded on her face. That’s what young gals liked, I guess.

  • The Beehive Hairdo: A tall, teased hairstyle that was all the rage.
  • Winged Eyeliner: Black eyeliner that extended out from the corners of the eyes.
  • Vibrant Eyeshadow: Brightly colored eyeshadows in shades like blue, green, and purple.

Now, the clothes, those were somethin’ too. Short dresses, they called ’em shift dresses. No shape to ’em, just hung straight down. But the colors, my oh my, they were bright! All sorts of swirls and patterns, made your eyes go dizzy just lookin’ at ’em. Some folks called it the Mod look, whatever that means. Sounded like somethin’ you’d fix a car with.

But it wasn’t just dresses, no sir. They had all sorts of pants too. Some tight, some flared out at the bottom like bells. They called them bell bottoms, imagine that! And shirts, plain ones with buttons, or those turtleneck things that went all the way up your neck. Made you look like a turtle, I tell ya. Sweaters too, big chunky ones, like they were knitted with rope. Kept you warm, I guess, but looked kinda scratchy.

And the skirts! Short, real short. Showed off them knees and everything. Some were straight, like pencils, others were pleated, like those old-timey schoolgirl skirts. They called them mini skirts, I reckon ’cause they were so mini!

Then there were the shoes. Flat ones, boots, some made out of shiny plastic stuff, like vinyl records. I never understood that. Shoes should be made of leather, somethin’ sturdy. But these young folks, they always gotta be different.

  • Shift Dresses: Short, shapeless dresses in bright colors and patterns.
  • Bell Bottoms: Pants that flared out at the bottom.
  • Turtlenecks: High-necked sweaters.
  • Mini Skirts: Very short skirts.
  • Vinyl Shoes: Shoes made of shiny plastic material.

And let me tell you, they had some crazy stuff too, not just the everyday clothes. Like them culottes, looked like pants but wide like skirts. And those go-go boots, white and tall, up to the knees. Made for dancin’, they said. And some dresses made out of that same shiny plastic, PVC they called it. Can you imagine? Sweatin’ up a storm in a plastic dress! Not for me, thank you very much.

Priscilla Presley and the 60s Look

This Priscilla girl, she wore it all, I tell ya. She was somethin’ of a looker, always put together, even if I didn’t always understand what she was wearin’. But that’s how it was back then, everyone tryin’ to be different, tryin’ to stand out. And stand out they did, with them beehive hairdos and them crazy clothes. It was a wild time, fashion-wise. Made a ol’ woman like me shake my head, but I gotta admit, it was somethin’ to see.

It’s funny, all these clothes and styles, they come and go. What was hot back then looks kinda silly now, and what’s hot now will probably look silly in another few years. That’s just the way things are, I guess. But back in the sixties, this Priscilla girl and her clothes, they were the talk of the town, that’s for sure.

This look continued for most of the sixties, up until the seventies started. Then, everything changed again, like it always does. But for a while there, those short dresses, beehive hair, and winged eyeliner were everywhere you looked. And this Priscilla Presley was right in the thick of it.

Now, I don’t know much about fancy fashion words, but I know what I see. And what I saw back then was a whole lotta color, a whole lotta leg, and a whole lotta hairspray. That’s the sixties for ya, and that’s how I remember it.

So there you have it. A little somethin’ about that Priscilla girl and what folks were wearin’ back in them sixties. A wild time it was, like I said. And this girl, well, she was right in the middle of it all, with her big hair and her short dresses. Goodness gracious.
