Well, let me tell ya ’bout this fella, Pieter Mulier. Don’t rightly know him from Adam, but seems like he’s a big shot in the fancy clothes world.

Folks say he’s the one makin’ clothes for this Alaa brand now. Never heard of it myself, but they tell me it’s a big deal. Reckon it is, seein’ as how much they talk about it. Sounds like this Alaa fella, the one who started it all, ain’t around no more. So this Pieter, he’s the new man in charge.
They gave him the job back in February of 2021, or so I hear. February the fifth, to be exact. Don’t ask me why that matters, but some folks like to keep track of these things.
Now, this Pieter, he’s been busy makin’ all sorts of clothes. Dresses and such, I reckon. They got fancy names for ’em, like “Winter-Spring 2025 Archetypes collection” and “Summer-Fall Alaa collection”. Don’t mean a thing to me, but sounds important. Like somethin’ you’d wear to church, only fancier.
- Big Shot Designer: Pieter Mulier’s the main man at Alaa now.
- New Heart of Alaa: They’re makin’ a new place for the Alaa brand, right in the middle of Paris. On some street called Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honor, if you can believe it.
- Fancy Clothes: He makes all sorts of dresses and things, “Winter-Spring 2025 Archetypes collection,” they call it, and “Summer-Fall Alaa collection” too.
Seems like he’s tryin’ to keep the spirit of that Alaa fella alive. They say this Alaa fella, he really liked makin’ women look good. Celebratin’ and embellishin’ the female form, they say. Sounds like he was a real gentleman, that Alaa. Pieter, he’s tryin’ to do the same, I guess. Keepin’ things classy, you know?
They had a big show, showed off all these new clothes. Not just any ol’ clothes, mind you. They say it wasn’t “haute couture,” whatever that is, but it was still fancy. Showed it off during some special week, seems like. This Pieter, he even talked to some fella named Alexander Fury about it. Said he was payin’ homage to some other folks, Charles James, Halston, and Claire McCardell. Never heard of ’em, but I guess they were big deals too.

This new Alaa place, it’s gonna be on some fancy street in Paris. Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honor, they call it. Gonna be the “new heart of Alaa,” they say. Sounds grand, don’t it? Like a big ol’ pump keepin’ the whole thing goin’.
This Pieter, he’s workin’ for some company called Richemont. Guess they own this Alaa brand now. Big money, I bet. They must think this Pieter fella is somethin’ special, givin’ him all this responsibility. Hope he knows what he’s doin’, all these fancy clothes and big shows. It’s a lot, you know?
From what I gather, this Alaa brand is all about perfection. That’s what they say, anyway. This Pieter, he’s gotta keep that goin’. Perpetuatin’ Azzedine Alaia’s quest for perfection, they call it. Sounds like a heavy load to carry, if you ask me. But hey, maybe he’s up to the task. Guess we’ll have to wait and see what kind of clothes he keeps makin’. Hopefully, they’re somethin’ folks can actually wear, not just them fancy things that cost an arm and a leg.
Alaa’s Legacy: Sounds like this Alaa fella was a big deal, and this Pieter Mulier’s got big shoes to fill. He’s gotta keep that Alaa spirit alive.
Fancy Talk: They use all sorts of fancy words when they talk about this stuff. “Haute couture” and “archetypes” and all that. Can’t hardly keep up sometimes.

Paris Fashion: Seems like a lot of this stuff happens in Paris. Fancy clothes, fancy streets, fancy people. Must be somethin’ in the water over there.
Big Responsibility: This Pieter Mulier, he’s got a lot on his plate. Runnin’ this Alaa brand, makin’ all these clothes. It’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it.
Anyway, that’s all I know about this Pieter Mulier. Seems like a hard workin’ fella, even if he does make clothes I can’t afford. Hope he does well for himself, and for this Alaa brand too. Maybe someday I’ll see one of his dresses in a shop window, and I’ll say, “Hey, I heard about that fella!” But then again, maybe not. Either way, it’s his business, not mine.
