Penhaligons Changing Constance Smell: Everything You Need to Know

Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with this perfume I’ve been seeing all over the place – Penhaligon’s Changing Constance. I’ve heard so much about Penhaligon’s, like how they’ve got that Royal Warrant thing and they’re a big deal in the UK for fancy perfumes. So I was pretty stoked to finally give this one a try.

First off, I got my hands on a bottle of the Changing Constance Eau de Parfum. I’d heard it’s supposed to be all about this “modern woman” vibe, which, you know, sounds cool. I’ve got some experience with perfumes before, mostly just trying out what my friends had, but this was my first time really diving into a Penhaligon’s scent.

When I first sprayed it, I noticed the top notes right away. It was kind of spicy and sweet at the same time? It was nice, but it didn’t really stick around for too long. Maybe like 15 minutes or so? That’s what I heard about head notes, they are fleeting. I did a bit of reading on how perfumes fade faster when the air is dry, so maybe that’s why. I sprayed it on in my bathroom after a shower, and maybe the air was still a bit humid. I also sprayed some on my clothes to see if it would last longer there.

The real deal with this perfume, I think, is the base notes. I read somewhere that they can last all day, especially with a strong Eau de Parfum like this one. And let me tell you, they weren’t kidding. I could still smell it hours later, and it was this warm, kinda comforting scent. I think I caught a whiff of that salted butter caramel that everyone talks about. It was pretty unique, not like anything I’d smelled before. I went about my day, doing chores, running errands, and even met up with some friends. They kept asking me what I was wearing, so I guess it was noticeable in a good way.

My Thoughts

Honestly, I was pretty impressed with Changing Constance. It definitely felt like a “luxury” perfume, not just because of the brand, but because of how it made me feel. It was like, a confidence boost in a bottle. It wasn’t too overpowering, but it was definitely there. And the fact that it lasted so long was a huge plus. I kept getting whiffs of it throughout the day, and it was a nice little reminder of the cool perfume I was wearing. I also asked my mom what she thought, and she said it reminded her of something, but she couldn’t quite place it. Maybe it’s just one of those scents that’s familiar but also totally new. I also tried it a second time the next day just to be sure and the result was the same, it’s really nice, maybe I will wear it to the dinner tonight!

I saw online that they don’t do exchanges or refunds because of hygiene reasons, which makes sense. I also noticed that there is a “Keyholder” thing for free delivery, might check that later. Overall, I’d say this was a successful experiment. I might even try out some other Penhaligon’s scents in the future. Maybe something that is also part of the “Portraits” collection.
