Okay, so today I’m gonna ramble about my experience with the Oris Aquis. Been wearing this thing for a while now, and figured I’d just spill my guts about it.

First off, I remember when I first saw it. I was just browsing, you know, doing the usual online window shopping thing. The blue dial just kinda jumped out. I wasn’t even really in the market for a dive watch, but something about the Aquis just clicked. I thought, “Damn, that’s a good-looking watch.”
I did some research, watched a bunch of YouTube reviews (as you do), and finally decided to pull the trigger. Getting it unboxed was cool and all. The bracelet felt solid, the bezel clicked nicely, and the blue was even more vibrant in person. Initial impression? A solid win.
But, you know, the real test is actually wearing the thing. And honestly, it’s been pretty great. The size (it’s the 43.5mm) is perfect for my wrist. Some people complain about the integrated bracelet, but I haven’t had any issues with it. It’s comfortable, looks good, and doesn’t feel cheap.
The movement’s been reliable too. It’s not some crazy in-house thing, just a Sellita SW200-1, but it’s been keeping good time. I think I’ve only had to adjust it like once every few weeks. Nothing to write home about, but it gets the job done.
I’ve taken it swimming a bunch of times. It’s a dive watch, after all! No leaks, no fogging, nothing. It’s rugged, and I don’t have to baby it, which is a big plus for me.
Now, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. There are a couple of minor gripes I have. The lume isn’t the brightest. It’s decent, but not like some other dive watches I’ve owned. Also, changing the strap is a pain in the butt because of the integrated bracelet. You need special tools, and it’s just generally fiddly.
But overall, I’m really happy with the Oris Aquis. It’s a good-looking, well-built watch that I can wear every day without worrying about it. It was a good buy.
Pros:
- Great looks
- Solid build quality
- Reliable movement
- Comfortable bracelet
Cons:
- Lume could be better
- Strap changes are a pain
So yeah, that’s my take on the Oris Aquis. Hope that was helpful to someone. Later!
