Omega Watch Green Face: Styles and Where to Buy One.

Okay, so lemme tell you about this thing I did with my watch. It was pretty cool, I think.

Omega Watch Green Face: Styles and Where to Buy One.

I’ve always been a sucker for a good-looking watch, especially Omegas. But those price tags? Ouch! So, I had this older Omega, right? A classic, but the face was just…blah. Plain white. I wanted something with a bit more pop, something that stood out.

That’s when I got the idea: why not give it a green face? I saw some pictures online, and a green-faced Omega just looked amazing. But I didn’t want to drop a fortune on a professional dial replacement. I figured I could try something myself. Risky? Maybe. But hey, gotta live a little!

First, I watched a bunch of YouTube videos on how to disassemble a watch. Scary stuff, honestly. Tiny screws everywhere! I bought a cheap watch repair kit on the internet – you know, the kind with all those little tools and tweezers. Looked intimidating at first.

The big moment – opening up the watch. I took my time. Followed the videos step-by-step. The hardest part was getting the movement out without scratching anything. Seriously, my hands were sweating. After a while i could disassemble it with more confidence.

Now for the green. I didn’t want to just paint the original dial. That seemed…tacky. So, I hunted around online for a replacement dial blank. Found one that was the exact size and shape of my Omega dial. It was brass, which was perfect.

For the green, I used some model paint. Yeah, I know, not exactly professional grade. But I figured I’d give it a shot. I chose a nice, deep emerald green. Applied several thin coats, letting it dry completely between each coat. This took like three days but it was worth it!

The hardest part after the painting, without a doubt, was reapplying the markers and the Omega logo. I practiced first with another blank dial. Then I carefully put everything on the green one with tweezers and a LOT of patience.

Then came the big reassembly. Reverse order, right? Easy peasy…NOT. Getting those tiny hands back on was a nightmare. I kept dropping them. I think it took me a solid hour just to get the hands aligned properly. But I eventually did it. I almost cried.

Finally, I put the crystal back on, snapped the case shut, and…it worked! The watch was ticking away, and the green face looked awesome. I was so proud. It wasn’t perfect, but it was mine. And it was green!.

Has the paint chipped? Sure, a little. Is it as good as a factory-made green dial? Probably not. But every time I wear it, I get a kick out of knowing I made it myself. Plus, it’s a great conversation starter. People always ask about it.

Would I do it again? Absolutely! Maybe with a different color next time. Purple, perhaps? Haha! Just kidding… probably.
