Okay, so, I’ve been obsessed with the Olsen twins lately, Mary-Kate and Ashley, you know? They’re like, total fashion icons, and I really wanted to do a photoshoot inspired by their style. It’s their birthday on June 13th, they’re turning 38! Can you believe it? They’ve been in the spotlight since they were babies on “Full House”!

I started by doing some research, just scrolling through tons of pictures of them online. I noticed they’re famous for their oversized clothes, people even call it “hobo chic,” haha! Apparently, Mary-Kate wears baggy stuff because she’s always cold, which I totally get.
Then I moved on to planning the actual shoot. I focused on their 90s looks because, let’s be real, that’s when they were peak fashion. I wrote down some keywords: oversized, baggy, chic, 90s, Met Gala, red carpet, and started brainstorming some outfit ideas.
Next, I hit up my closet and started pulling out anything that felt “Olsen twin.” Think big sweaters, long skirts, flowy dresses, and of course, some platform shoes. I even found an old hat that looked like something they’d wear. I was pretty proud of my little collection, not gonna lie.
Getting Ready for Shooting
Next, I picked a location. I wanted something kind of urban, but with a touch of elegance, you know, to capture that high-fashion vibe they have. I ended up choosing this cool street in my city that has a mix of old buildings and modern shops. It’s not the Met Gala red carpet, but it worked!
After that, it was time to get ready. I kept my makeup simple, just like they usually do. A little bit of mascara, some lip balm, and that’s it. For my hair, I went with a messy bun, because who can forget their iconic messy buns? But before I did the bun I got my outfits ready, I ended up with three different looks, all inspired by their 90s style. I was feeling pretty confident.

The Photoshoot Time
The day of the shoot was so much fun. It was a bit cloudy, which was perfect because it gave the photos this cool, moody vibe. I met up with my friend who’s a photographer, and we just started shooting. I posed in my different outfits, trying to channel my inner Olsen twin. We took a bunch of photos, some close-ups, some full-body shots, and some walking shots, just like they do on the red carpet.
To be honest, it was a bit awkward at first. I’m not used to being in front of the camera, but after a while, I started to relax and have fun with it. I even tried to do their signature smize, haha! I think I nailed it, but you can be the judge of that.
After the Photoshoot
After the shoot, I went home and started editing the photos. I didn’t want to do too much, just some basic adjustments to the lighting and colors. I wanted to keep the photos looking natural and effortless, just like the Olsen twins’ style. I ended up with a few dozen photos that I’m really happy with.
My Reflections
Overall, this photoshoot was such a fun experience. It was a great way to pay tribute to the Olsen twins and their iconic style. Plus, I got some awesome new profile pictures out of it! I’m definitely going to do more themed photoshoots in the future. It’s a great way to be creative and express myself. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll even be able to attend the Met Gala myself! A girl can dream, right?
And hey, maybe I’ll even start my own fashion line, just like the Olsen twins did when they were teenagers. They started with a clothing line for Walmart back in 2004, can you believe it? They were so young! They called their company Dualstar, which is pretty cool. Anyway, I’m getting ahead of myself. For now, I’m just happy with my little Olsen-inspired photoshoot. Hope you all love the photos!
