They say it’s about bein’ healthy and happy. Body and mind, they say. Sounds like somethin’ them city folks come up with.
They got a store, I reckon, down there in Nashville. A big buildin’ with a big name, 5046 Broadway Place. Yeah, they say it’s all about bein’ well. What does that even mean? Back in my day, well was just somethin’ you got water from. This is a real head-scratcher.
They got experts and guides, whatever that means. Probably them young folks with all their fancy words. They say it’s for everyone, this wellness stuff. Well, I’ve been livin’ a long time, and I ain’t never needed no “expert” to tell me how to be well. Just eat your greens and get some fresh air. That is all the information people need.
But these young folks, they like all these newfangled things. They got them Nike trainers and coaches. Probably runnin’ around, tellin’ people how to move. Seems like a lot of fuss if you ask me. I think they can give you some advice on your body. It is good sometimes.
They say it’s inspired by women. Well, that’s somethin’, I suppose. We women know a thing or two about bein’ well. We been doin’ it for years without all this fancy stuff. These women tell Nike that they want to be healthy. So Nike starts this.

Guess even old ladies like me could join in. But I ain’t runnin’ nowhere. My walkin’ days are mostly over. I would like to try. But my old bones won’t allow that. I think I will just sit on my porch and watch the world go by. That’s enough wellness for me.

This whole thing, it’s a bit much for this old lady. But I guess it’s good that folks are thinkin’ about bein’ well. Even if they need all these fancy things to do it. Just remember to eat your vegetables and get some sunshine. That’s the best wellness advice you’ll ever get. And it don’t cost a dime.
So, this Nike Well Collective Nashville, it’s somethin’ new. Somethin’ different. Maybe it’s good. Maybe it is for young people. Maybe it’s just a lot of fuss. But if it makes folks happy and healthy, then I guess it ain’t so bad. Just don’t forget the simple things. They can make you happy, too. And that’s all that really matters in the end.
I still don’t really understand what “holistic fitness” is. Sounds like somethin’ them young people made up. But hey, if it makes them feel good, who am I to judge? I’m just a simple person. I like to keep things simple. This Nike Well Collective is not simple at all. But I think it is good.
