Okay, so today I decided to hit up the Neiman Marcus at Oakbrook Center. I’ve been eyeing this one specific bag for, like, ever, and I finally decided to just go for it. Treat myself, you know?

First, I got ready, put on something reasonably nice – didn’t want to look like a total slob in Neiman Marcus, haha. Then I hopped in the car and drove over. Parking was a bit of a nightmare, as usual for Oakbrook, but I finally found a spot after circling for what felt like an hour.
The Store Experience
Once I got inside, wow. It’s just…fancy. Everything is so perfectly placed and sparkly. I immediately headed towards the handbag section, trying to act like I belonged there and wasn’t totally overwhelmed.
- Browsed around a bit, pretending to be interested in other things.
- Finally spotted “the” bag. It was even more beautiful in person.
- Tried to subtly check the price tag without looking too desperate.
A sales associate, super polished and friendly, came over and asked if I needed help. I asked a few questions about the bag, trying to sound knowledgeable, even though I’d already researched it to death online.
I debated internally for a good five minutes. Should I? Shouldn’t I? It’s a big purchase! But in the end, I decided to go for it. I told the sales associate I’d take it.
She whisked it away to the register, and the whole checkout process felt very…exclusive. They even offered me a fancy bottled water! I paid, feeling a mix of excitement and slight terror at the dent in my bank account.

Finally, I walked out of the store with my new bag, feeling pretty darn good. Was it an impulse purchase? Maybe. Do I regret it? Absolutely not!
