So, I finally sat down and decided I was going to get the Celeste platinum trophy. Heard it was tough, and yeah, it really was, but totally worth it in the end.

First thing was just playing through the main story, you know, Chapters 1 through 7. Getting Madeline up that mountain. Right off the bat, I knew this wasn’t gonna be easy. Died a lot. Like, a lot a lot, especially in places like the Celestial Resort and Mirror Temple. But I kept pushing. The controls felt good, real tight, so most deaths felt like my fault, which kinda kept me going. I grabbed strawberries when I saw them, but wasn’t super stressed about getting every single one on the first pass.
Hunting for Tapes and Hearts
After beating Chapter 7, the real challenge started to ramp up. I knew I needed all the B-Side levels completed. To unlock those, I had to go back into each main chapter and find the hidden Cassette Tape. Some weren’t too bad, others were tucked away pretty cleverly. While I was hunting for tapes, I also focused on finding all the Crystal Hearts. These were a mix:
- Some involved little puzzles within the level.
- Some required tricky platforming sections.
- A couple really made me scratch my head, not gonna lie. Had to look up one or two, felt a bit bad but hey, gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.
Getting all those blue hearts felt like a solid step forward.
Stepping Up to B-Sides
Okay, so with the tapes found, I unlocked the B-Sides. And man, these were a serious difficulty spike. Each B-Side is basically a much harder remix of the original chapter’s music and themes. More complex screens, tighter timings, just way more demanding. The death count started climbing ridiculously fast here. It took pure persistence. Just hammering away at a tough screen, dying over and over, until I finally fluked my way through or actually learned the pattern. Beating each B-Side felt like a huge victory.
The C-Side Gauntlets
Finishing all the B-Sides unlocked the final challenge: the C-Sides. These are unlocked after finding all the Crystal Hearts too, I think. Anyway, the C-Sides are different. They’re super short, usually just three screens long. But those three screens? Absolutely brutal precision platforming. No room for error. The last screen of each C-Side, especially, was just intense. You had to execute perfectly. Again, tons of deaths, loads of frustration, but the feeling when I finally cleared that final screen of a C-Side was pure relief and maybe a little bit of disbelief.

Cleaning Up and The Final Push
With all A, B, and C sides done, and all the hearts collected, I just needed to clean up the remaining trophies. The big one was collecting 175 Strawberries. I had a decent amount from playing naturally, but I needed to go back and find the ones I missed. This meant replaying chapters, sometimes using guide fragments I remembered or just exploring every nook and cranny. It wasn’t as hard as the C-Sides, more like a thorough scavenger hunt.
There was also that tricky ‘1-Up’ trophy – grabbing 6 strawberries in Chapter 1 without touching the ground after the first jump. Took a few tries to get the bouncing momentum right, but got it eventually. Felt pretty clever pulling that one off.
After I grabbed the 175th strawberry, I checked my trophy list. That was it. The final requirement met.
And then, that beautiful sound and notification. Platinum Trophy unlocked. Felt so good. It was a long journey, really tested my patience and skills, but climbing that virtual mountain and getting the platinum was incredibly satisfying. Definitely one of the prouder platinums in my collection.
