So, I wanted to mess around with “dia bentley” and see what I could get it to do. I’ve heard some things, seen some screenshots, so I figured, why not give it a shot myself?

First, I needed to actually get my hands on it. It wasn’t exactly a simple download-and-go situation. I did a bit of digging, found a few versions floating around. To be honest it was a headache to download.
Once I finally got it installed and running. I spent a good chunk of time just clicking around. Seeing what all the different buttons and menus did. I gotta say, the interface is… something. It is not my thing.
Experiment Time
I decided to try a basic scenario. I made some simple adjustments and wanted to see how the AI will response, then I saved my progress, just in case I messed something up royally and needed to revert.
- Step 1:Made an change to some settings.
- Step 2:Hit the process button.
- Step 3:Wait a while.
- Step 4:Wow it actually worked!
Okay, that worked better than expected. I tweaked a few more things, pushed it a little harder. I even tried throwing some unexpected at it. honestly, the program is not useful at all.
After hours of tinkering, I think I have a decent handle on things. It’s definitely not perfect, and it has its quirks. It is not useful.
