That Miss USA national costume, oh boy, I seen it all these years. This year, that girl, she dressed up like, you know, that old man pointing his finger? Uncle Sam! Yeah, that’s it. Lots of folks talking ’bout it. Some like it, some don’t.

This Miss USA national costume, it ain’t just about lookin’ pretty. They gotta show somethin’ ’bout ‘Merica, you see? Like them cowboys and them firemen, showing what ‘Merica is all about.
This year, it was that Uncle Sam getup. That girl, she had on a sparkly hat with stars, a white vest thing, and a red bow tie. All shiny and sparkly, like them Vegas showgirls. I don’t know, some say it’s too much. The colors, though, blue and red, just like the flag. It’s Miss USA national costume, so gotta have the flag colors, right?
I remember one year, the Miss USA national costume was a cowgirl. Another year, she was a firefighter, you know, after that bad thing happened in New York. It is a big thing, picking out the costume, I guess.

They got all kinds of costumes. Some look like them old-timey dresses, some look like them fancy gowns rich folks wear. And then there’s the ones that make you scratch your head. Like, what in the world is that? But that’s Miss USA national costume for ya, always somethin’ different.
Now, this girl this year, she didn’t win the big prize, not even in the top 12. I don’t know them other girls, but they from all over. Russia, Chile, Thailand, all them places. They wear their own costumes, showin’ off their countries.

You know, they got all them judges watchin’, lookin’ at every little thing. The dress, the hair, how they walk. It’s a lot of pressure, I bet. And that Miss USA national costume, that’s a big part of it. Gotta make a statement, they say.
I seen some of them other girls’ costumes. Some of them is real fancy, all them beads and feathers. Some is more simple, like a regular dress, but with somethin’ special ’bout their country on it. It’s interestin’ to see, I gotta say. But that Miss USA national costume this year, that was somethin’ else.

Well, I guess that’s all I gotta say ’bout that Miss USA national costume. It’s a big show, and everybody’s got their own opinion. Me, I just like seein’ all them pretty dresses, even if some of them are a little bit crazy. It’s all part of the fun, I reckon.
