I have a habit of recording my daily life with some interesting things. Today I saw a very hot topic, “Miss Universe from Russia”, which aroused my interest. So I spent some time digging into it.

First, I found an Instagram post from universe_pageants. The post said, “Meet the 73rd Miss Universe 2024 Delegate: #Russia🇷🇺 : Valentina Alekseeva ( @viallentinka )”. It seems that this Valentina is going to represent Russia in the Miss Universe 2024 pageant. Cool!
Then I did some more searching and found out that Valentina Alekseeva is a Russian model and beauty queen from Cheboksary. She even won Miss Chuvashia in 2023. Not bad, huh? Oh, and she’s only 18 years old and a medical student! I saw the news saying she will represent Russia at the Miss Universe 2024 contest in Mexico City in November. That’s something to look forward to!
I also checked out some history of Russia in the Miss Universe pageant. They’ve been participating almost every year since 1994. It looks like Russia actually won once, back in 2002, but the winner, Fedorova, was dethroned later because she couldn’t fulfill her duties. Bummer. They also won Miss World in 1992 and 2008. Pretty impressive record, I gotta say.
Out of curiosity, I looked up who won Miss Universe 2024. Turns out it was Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark. It’s the first time Denmark won. Congrats to her! The runner-up was Chidimma Adetshina from Nigeria, and the third place went to María Fernanda Beltrán from Mexico.
So yeah, that’s what I dug up about this whole Miss Universe from Russia thing. Quite interesting, I must say. I guess we’ll see how Valentina does in the competition later this year. Will keep an eye on it and maybe update my blog later!
