Well, well, well, look what we have here! These male ASOS models, huh? They’re all over the place these days, ain’t they? Back in my day, we didn’t have all these fancy websites and such. You wanted clothes, you went to the store, you tried ’em on, you bought ’em. Simple as that! These young folks and their internets, I tell ya…
Now, I see these fellas, these ASOS models, and they’re all skinny and pretty. Always posing, looking like they don’t eat enough. And these clothes they wear, sometimes I just don’t get it. Ripped jeans, shirts with holes in ’em… why pay good money for clothes that look like they’re fallin’ apart?
But hey, what do I know? Fashion, they call it. My grandson, he’s always on that ASOS thing, scrolling and scrolling. He showed me some of the male ASOS models once. Said they were “in.” In what, I asked him? In style, he says. In my day, style was about wearing something that fit you right and kept you warm. Not about lookin’ like you just rolled outta bed.
I seen one of them ASOS models, he had on a shirt that looked like it was ten sizes too big. “That’s oversized,” my grandson said. “It’s cool.” Cool? I thought he was gonna catch a cold! And the pants, oh lord, the pants. Baggy, low-hanging… they looked like they were about to fall right off him. How do they keep them up?
And the hair! Don’t even get me started on the hair. All messy and floppin’ around. Back in my day, a man had short hair. Neat and tidy. Not like these fellas, lookin’ like they just woke up from a nap under a bush. But hey, each to their own, I guess. If that’s what they like, that’s what they like.
They say these ASOS models are popular, though. All the young girls, they like ’em. My granddaughter, she’s always talkin’ about them. “He’s so cute, Grandma,” she says. “He’s so stylish.” I just nod and smile. What else can I do? These kids and their trends, they change faster than the weather. One day it’s this, the next day it’s that. It’s hard to keep up. Even if you have 478K followers or somethin’.

But I gotta say, some of these ASOS models, they do look nice. Even with their fancy clothes and messy hair. They got a certain something about ’em. A confidence, maybe. Or maybe it’s just the way they’re photographed. They got people takin’ pictures of ’em all the time, making them look good. We didn’t have that back in my day. You wanted a picture, you had to go to a studio and sit real still for a long time. And you only got one shot! If you blinked, too bad. That was your picture.
And they got all kinds of these male ASOS models now. Different sizes, different looks. Some of them are bigger, not so skinny. That’s good, I reckon. Not everyone’s built the same. Back in my day, we didn’t have all this “body positivity” stuff, but we knew that people came in all shapes and sizes. And that was okay. These new size fellas, up to 4XL, that’s something new.
They even have fellas with beards now! Big, bushy beards. In my day, a man shaved every day. A clean-shaven face was a sign of respectability. Now, they got these ASOS models with beards that reach their chests. Times sure have changed. And these fellas are on Instagram, whatever that is. I guess you gotta be on Instagram to be a model, or a photographer, or a… stylist? Is that a real job? Oh well, must be if you can find it there with makeup artists and hair people, and all sorts of folks. Even fans, I hear.
I guess these male ASOS models, they’re a sign of the times. Everything’s changing, moving faster. The world’s a different place now. And that’s okay. I’m just glad I got to see it all. From the simple days to these crazy times. It’s been quite a ride. And who knows what they’ll come up with next. Maybe they’ll have ASOS models wearing clothes made of leaves or something. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit. The new labels always try something crazy.
I suppose these young people just want to express themselves and have some fun with these clothes, even if they keep scrolling for hours. Well, if it makes them happy, then who am I to judge? Even if I don’t understand it. Though I do wish they’d pull their pants up. They will find those clothes in their saved items, I guess. Then they can have some fun, as they say.
