LV 1854 Bag Review: What You Need to Know Before Buying

Alright, let’s gab about this here LV 1854 bag, ya know, the one with all them fancy squiggles and numbers. Folks call it a “Louis Vee-ton,” sounds mighty highfalutin to me. But anyways, I seen some gals carryin’ it, and it got me thinkin’, what’s all the fuss about?

LV 1854 Bag Review: What You Need to Know Before Buying

First off, they say this 1854 thingy, it ain’t just any number. It’s the year this Louis fella started his business, makin’ fancy trunks and such. Now, this bag, it ain’t no trunk, but it sure is pretty, with all that…what do they call it…jacquard? Sounds like somethin’ you’d find in a fancy-pants restaurant, not on a bag! But it’s all woven in, real nice and tight, with the 1854 and some flowers and stuff. Makes it look kinda old-timey, but in a good way, ya know?

Now, I ain’t no expert on purses, but I heard tell that these LV bags, they hold their value. Means if you buy one and take care of it, you can sell it later for pretty much what you paid for it, maybe even more! That’s what they call an “investment,” I reckon. Like buyin’ a piece of land, but smaller and you can carry your stuff in it. Kinda makes sense, I guess. If you gonna spend a whole lotta money on a bag, might as well be one that’s worth somethin’ down the road.

But here’s the thing, keeping these bags clean, that’s a whole ‘nother story. They say you gotta be real careful, use special cleaners and all that. Can’t just toss it in the washin’ machine like my old cotton tote! And Lord help you if you spill somethin’ on it. Wine stains on a “Louis Vee-ton”? That’s a disaster, I tell ya! They say you gotta wipe it down gentle, like you’re burpin’ a baby. And if it’s one of them leather ones, well, that’s even more trouble, I bet.

  • Cleaning: Wipe it down gentle, they say. No harsh stuff.
  • Value: Holds its price, like gold, I hear.
  • That 1854: It ain’t just a number, it’s history, or somethin’.

I seen pictures of all different kinds of these LV bags. Some big, some small, some with long straps, some with short ones. This here 1854 one, it comes in different shapes too, I think. There’s this little bitty one, looks like a box, they call it a “Petit Sac Plat.” Cute as a button, but wouldn’t hold much more than a lipstick and a couple of dollars, I reckon. Then there’s bigger ones, like the “Capucines,” looks sturdy enough to carry a whole chicken dinner, and maybe a pie too!

And get this, they got folks who actually work for this Louis Vee-ton company, and they tell you which bags are the best. Like this one lady, she was talkin’ about a “Vavin BB Empreinte,” said it was a great size. Sounds like she knows her bags, that’s for sure. But then again, she probably gets ‘em for free, lucky duck!

LV 1854 Bag Review: What You Need to Know Before Buying

Now, if you’re thinkin’ about gettin’ yourself a LV 1854 bag, or any of them fancy Louis Vee-tons, you gotta ask yourself a few questions. First off, can you afford it? These things ain’t cheap, ya know. And second, do you really need it? I mean, a bag is a bag, right? It’s supposed to hold your stuff. But I guess if you got the money and you like the way it looks, then go for it. Just don’t go cryin’ to me if you spill your coffee on it! And one more thing, make sure it’s a real one. I heard there’s a lot of fakes out there, lookin’ just like the real deal, but they ain’t worth a plugged nickel.

They say you can tell a real one by lookin’ at the little stamp inside. It’s got a date and a place on it, shows you when and where it was made. Kinda like a birth certificate for a bag, I guess. So if you’re gonna spend that much money, make sure you’re gettin’ the real McCoy, not some cheap knock-off. That’s my two cents, anyways. You do what you think is best.

So, there you have it, my take on this here LV 1854 bag. It’s fancy, it’s expensive, and it holds its value, apparently. Whether you need one or not, that’s up to you. Me? I’ll stick with my old trusty tote. It may not be fancy, but it gets the job done, and I don’t have to worry about spillin’ my sweet tea on it!
