Okay, so I’ve been wanting to make my own body mist for a while now, and I finally took the plunge! I decided to go with a coconut and vanilla scent because, honestly, who doesn’t love that combo? It smells like a tropical vacation.
First, I gathered all my stuff. This was probably the hardest part because I had to order a few things online. I needed:
- Distilled water: Apparently, this is better than tap water because it doesn’t have all the extra minerals and stuff.
- Witch hazel: I learned that this helps the scent last longer. It also good for the skin.
- Vegetable glycerin: This is supposed to help moisturize your skin, which is a bonus.
- Coconut fragrance oil: Make sure the quality is good.
- Vanilla fragrance oil: I used an extract at first, but I switched it later.
- A spray bottle: I got a cute little glass one.
Then I started mixing. I found a basic recipe online and kind of tweaked it to my liking. I poured like, maybe 3/4 cup of distilled water into the bottle first. I added about a tablespoon of witch hazel in there.
Next up, a tiny amount of vegetable glycerin, that’s, like, half a teaspoon. I didn’t want it to be too sticky. Then came the fun part – the scents!
I did about 15 drops of the coconut fragrance oil and maybe 10 drops of the vanilla. I wanted it to be more coconut-y than vanilla-y, you know?
After all the fragrance oils, put the top on the bottle, and then I shook it all the ingredents up. Like, really well. And that’s it!
I sprayed it on my wrist to test it out, and oh my goodness, it smelled SO good. It’s light, refreshing, and exactly what I wanted. I’ve been using it every day since. My custom body mist is definately awesome!
