Love Carrie Bradshaw Hair Season 4? A Look Back at Her Most Memorable Hairdos

Okay, so, I’ve always been obsessed with Carrie Bradshaw’s hair, especially in season 4. It’s just so iconic, you know? That perfect mix of messy and chic. I decided I was gonna try to recreate it myself, and let me tell you, it was a journey.

Love Carrie Bradshaw Hair Season 4? A Look Back at Her Most Memorable Hairdos

First, I watched a ton of “Sex and the City” episodes from season 4. I paused, I rewinded, I zoomed in – basically, I became a detective studying Sarah Jessica Parker’s curls. I noticed that her hair wasn’t super uniform. It looked natural, like she just rolled out of bed looking fabulous, but I knew there had to be some work involved.

Then, I dug into some behind-the-scenes stuff. Turns out, SJP has naturally wavy hair, not exactly curly. And apparently, her hair was pretty damaged from all the bleaching, especially when they first started filming the show. So, they had to work with what they had. That made me feel a little better, because my hair isn’t naturally curly either.

Next, I started experimenting. I tried a bunch of different curling irons, different sizes, different techniques. I even dusted off my old diffuser, thinking maybe that would give me that effortless, wavy look. It was a lot of trial and error. Some days I ended up looking like I stuck my finger in a light socket. Other days, it was just…blah.

But I kept at it. I learned that the key was not to make the curls too perfect. I started using a larger barrel curling iron and only curled sections of my hair, leaving some parts straight or just slightly wavy. I also found that using a texturizing spray helped to give it that messy, lived-in look. I also wrapped my hair in a bun to do some simple styles from time to time, and that was pretty easy.

Here’s what I figured out:

  • Embrace the Frizz: Carrie’s hair wasn’t sleek and perfect. It had some frizz, and that’s okay! It’s part of the charm.
  • Less is More: Don’t curl every single strand of hair. Leave some pieces out to create a more natural look.
  • Product is Your Friend: A good texturizing spray can do wonders. It helps to add volume and that “I woke up like this” vibe. Also, a little conditioner goes a long way, especially if your hair tends to get dry.

Finally, after weeks of experimenting, I think I nailed it. Or at least, I got pretty close. It’s not an exact replica, but it has that same effortless, cool-girl vibe that Carrie had in season 4. And honestly, that’s what matters. It’s about capturing the spirit of the look, not copying it exactly.

So, if you’re thinking about trying to recreate Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic season 4 hair, go for it! Just be prepared for some experimentation, and don’t be afraid to embrace the imperfections. That’s what makes it so great.
