Okay, so today I wanted to make something special, something with a bit of sparkle. I decided to mess around with making my own jewelry, specifically from this brand called Stephenson, which I’ve seen around but never really dug into. So, let’s jump into it, shall we?

First off, I gathered all my materials. I didn’t really know what I was doing, so I just grabbed a bunch of stuff from my craft boxes. I had some beads, a few pieces of wire, some old chains, and a couple of clasps that I thought might come in handy. I laid everything out on my kitchen table, which quickly turned into a chaotic mess, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right?
Next, I started playing around with designs. I looked up some pictures online for inspiration, but most of it was way too complicated. I just wanted to make something simple and elegant. I decided to go with a basic necklace and matching earrings set. Easy peasy, or so I thought.
The Necklace
- I took a piece of thin wire and started threading beads onto it. I picked out some small, shiny blue beads because blue is my favorite color.
- Once I had enough beads on the wire, I tried to attach the clasp. This was way harder than it looked. I struggled with the tiny loops for what felt like forever.
- Finally, I managed to get the clasp on, but it wasn’t pretty. It looked a bit wonky, but I figured it would hold.
The Earrings
- For the earrings, I used shorter pieces of wire and threaded just a few beads on each.
- I made little loops at the end of each wire to attach the earring hooks. This was also a pain. My fingers felt huge, and the wire kept slipping.
- After a few tries, I got the hooks on, and they didn’t look half bad, if I do say so myself.
In the end, I had a matching necklace and earrings set. It wasn’t perfect, but I made it myself, which is pretty cool. It took me the whole afternoon, a lot of patience, and a few curse words, but I did it. I even wore the set out to dinner that night, and my friends actually liked it. They couldn’t believe I made it myself! Now, I might start a new hobby – who knows? It’s definitely a fun way to spend an afternoon, even if my fingers are still sore.
Maybe next time I will get the hang of it.
